Nicole's P.O.V.

  *Present day*

"Good morning Nicole. This is Ashton, he's going to be your new therapist." My nurse, Ashley said, walking into the door, not even knocking.
I stared at the boy next to her. I honestly don't know how he even got through the door without bumping his head. He had a mop of brownish- blonde curly hair, with a red bandana tied around it. In his black skinny jeans, he had two drumsticks.

Well that's interesting.

Ashley left the room, leaving Ashton and I alone.
"Hi Nicole, how are you?" He said with an Australian accent, while taking a seat next to me on my bed.

Well I can finally say I've met an Australian.

"I'm good."
"So, Nicole, how long have you been here?
Why don't you tell me about yourself." I couldn't get over the fact that I was talking to an Australian.
"Well I've been here for a little over four years. My family never visits, probably because they hate me.But before I came here- before my life ended, I didn't have many friends, I was bullied, I was the definition of an outcast. The only thing that made me feel like I was understood was music-"
"What kind of music do you listen to? Do you have any favorite bands?"
"Yeah, I listen to bands like Panic! At the disco, All Time Low, Mayday Parade, bands like that."
"Oh wow, I listen to most of them too.

...

Ashton had left, and I was alone again. I honestly don't think that Ashton will help me. He'll probably be just like the other therapist that I've had in the past.
I guess I could give him a chance.
My door creaked open, revealing Ashley.
Ashley, unlike everyone else here was someone that I actually like to talk to. Sometimes she would just come to my room just to talk. I basically trust her with anything.
"So did you like Ashton today?" She asked.
"Yeah. I mean, he's alright."
She sat down on the space next to me.
"What do you mean by, 'he's alright'? She asked, nudging my shoulder.
"Like, he seems okay, it's just... I don't really know if he'll make a difference compared to my last therapist."
"Don't worry, I've known Ashton for a while. He's a good kid, plus, I've talked to some of his patients, and by the way they talk, he's really good. Trust me here Nicole."
She got up from the bed going towards the door before stopping. "Do you need anything before I go?"
"I think I'm okay." I smiled "Thanks Ashley."
"No problem."
...
Over the next few days, Ashton and I have found out a lot more about each other.
"Well, Nicole it looks like it's about time for me to go." Ashton said, getting up from his place next to me on the bed.
"Wait. Ashton before you go can I ask you something?"
"Ask away."
"Why do you always carry around drum sticks?"
"Well, you see, I'm a drummer. And I try to practice as much as possible, even if it means drumming on a wall or something."
"Do you mind if you play a little bit?"
He let out a a small chuckle before asking, "Okay then, what do you want me to play?"
I thought about it a little before answering.
"Okay, I know this is kind of an odd song, but do you know 'You Found Me' by The Fray?"
"Okay. That's a really good song."
He pulled out his drumsticks before starting a beat on my bedside table.

I found God on the corner of First in Amistad.
Where the west was all but won.
All alone,
Smoking his last cigarette.
I said,"Where you been?"
He said," Ask anything. "

As he started to sing, you could tell he was kind of tense, like he wasn't comfortable with singing. Which if he was, I don't understand why, he was absolutely amazing.

Where were you?
When everything was falling apart?
All my days
Spent by the telephone
That never rang.
And all I needed was a call,
That never came.
From the corner of First and Amistad.

I watched him approach the chorus, and as he did his voice slowly got stronger.

Lost and insecure.
You found me, you found me,
Lying on the floor.
Surrounded, surrounded,
Why'd you have to wait?
Where were you? Where were you?
Just a little late.
You found me, you found me.

As he got towards the end of the chorus, his voice slowed, before ending completely. Once he finished, he looked up at me smiling.
"How did I do?"
"Absolutely amazing!"
He looked at me doubtfully before asking,"You really think that? No one has ever said that."
"Ashton, there is no way that you can be serious."
"I'm being completely serious I swear!" He giggled, showing his beautiful smile.
"When I drum, people always say to go away they don't want to hear that 'racket'."
"Well they're completely wrong. Don't listen to them."
Ashton looked down at his watch.
"I've got to go. The boys are going to kill me if I'm any more late for practice than what I am now.
"Bye Ashton"
"See you tomorrow?" He asked, standing in the door way.
"Yeah."
"Bye Nicole."
"Bye Ashton." I waved.
The door closed. Leaving me alone like the many other times.
I thought about Ashton, how he said my name, his accent, his smile, him.
He was just,

Perfect.

No- there's no way I could honestly think that. He's my therapist. That's it. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Just my therapist.

Right.

A/N: Okay, so I haven't been on my account in months but I'm finally back.
I actually kinda like this book so far and I hope I don't end up deleting it like my other book. But anyway I really really hope you guys like it.
