Room 210 Chapter three
One month later
“No! Dent and I are just friends, Twylah. How long have we known each other and you just asked me that?”
Twylah, my new best friend shrugged, “I was just saying I think you two make a cute couple. I wasn’t saying you two were together.”
It was a beautiful April day. It had finally warmed up to seventy something and the grass wasn’t wet for once. Twylah, Dent, and I were sitting on the quad enjoying the sunshine. I looked over at my best friend who was flirting with some typical blond bimbo a few feet away. Actually, she reminded me a little of Andi. “Dent!” I yelled, “Twylah just said she ships us!”
Dent yelled back without looking over at me “Nikky, I think everyone ships us,” He winked at the girl he was talking to, “Sorry about her, she’s a little crazy!” I overheard him say.
“Don’t listen to him! He’s the crazy one!” Twylah yelled.
Twylah and I fell back on the grass laughing. Twylah was in my Creative Writing class. We were assigned to do a project together and we had kind of an instant connection. She was funny, brilliant, and absolutely gorgeous all rolled into one package.
“Hey, I heard your roommate is getting home tonight.” She suddenly said.
“No fricken’ way? Where the hell has she been? Bekkah hasn’t been back to the room in-”
“No, Liam, Sweetheart.”
That stopped me in my tracks. Liam, my mysterious roommate who hadn’t been here according to everyone, since February was back.
“Well, that’s cool.” I brushed her off like I was unfazed.
“Really? That’s all you have to say?”
“Yeah. Did you want me to say more?”
She sighed, “Sweetie, this is huge. The guy is supposed to be, like, ‘the hottest guy at the school.’ What are you gonna do when you meet him?”
I thought about it for a minute, “What do you want me to do? I’ve never met the guy. I have to meet him before I decide what I’m going to do about him.”
She shook her head, “You are too much sometimes, Nikky.”
“HEY GURLS!!”
Oh no. The bane of my existence. “Hey Donny.”
A sandy blond drip of evil dropped down next to me and shimmied over so he was snuggled into my shoulder. “What’s up, gorgeous? You free this weekend?”
I shrugged him off and scoffed, “Not this weekend. Maybe never?” I hit him with a dazzling smile.
“Oh please.” He laughed, laying his head into my lap. “I’m sure I’ll get you before then.”
“Right. As if!” I shoved him off me and curled my legs up so I was no longer touching him.
“Hey D-man!” Dent yelled as he waved.
"B-man! ‘Sup? I’m trying to hit on your girl, but she ain’t bitin’!”
Ugh. His vocabulary was almost as bad as a two year olds. “Isn’t biting, Donny. Use proper English. And I’m not Dent’s girl. We’re just friends.”
He winked at me, “Sure babe. Hey, you free next weekend?”
“Ugh!” I exclaimed. “Get a life, loser.”
Donny shut his eyes and folded his hands behind his head. “I’m trying, but she keeps rejecting me!”
I looked over at Twylah with a disgusted sneer on my face but stopped when I caught her expression. Her eyes were bright and full of admiration and staring straight at the still form of Donny.
Gasping, I gently slapped her arm and she looked up. “You like him?” I mouthed at her.
She nodded, “Look at him. He’s adorable!” She mouthed back.
I couldn’t help but burst out laughing. “No way!” I yelled.
“Shut up, Nikky.” She punched my shoulder.
“Ladies, ladies, no need to fight.” Donny said, throwing his arms up between us, “Plenty of the D-man to go around.”
“Please. D-man? More like Demon. Why are you here?” Twylah scoffed.
I glanced up at her questioningly. She shook her head very slightly, looking bored with everything.
“I came to flirt with the two loveliest ladies on the quad today,” Twylah blushed a light pink and turned her face, “As well as make one of them aware that her mysterious roommate has returned from his extended vacation."
“I thought he wasn’t getting back until tonight.”
Donny shrugged, “Guess he’s home early.”
I looked at Twylah, “What to do?” I held up my left hand, “Hang out with you and this drip,” I motioned to Donny.
“Hey, that’s Mr. Drip to you!”
I held up my right hand, “Or go meet my roommate who has been missing since February.” I made weighing motions and raised my right just a little bit higher. “Sorry guys. This one is too irresistible.”
“Don’t leave me here!” Twylah begged, but the look on her face said “Please leave me here!”
“Sorry love. You’ll have to deal with Sir Drip on your own.”As I stood up and started walking away I heard Donny say, “Sir? Hear that Twylah? I’m a knight!” And Twylah giggle like a teenager.
As I walked to my dorm, I thought about what LIam would be like. From his letter he sounded adorable, like a little kid, but older. I loved the way he put personal information into his letter. I mean, I loved finding the letter, but after reading it countless times, I felt like I needed to know more about him.
As I reached the living quarters and started up the first flight of stairs, a group of people passed me. “Hey aren’t you the girl in 210?” One of them asked.
“Umm, yeah. That’s me.”
One of the girls in the back of group shouted, “Can I have your roommates number?!”
“Can I have your number?” A boy’s voice said.
The rest of the group laughed and continued on their way down the stairs.
Okay. This was getting progressively weirder.”What is with everybody today?” I questioned aloud.
I finally reached my landing and started down the hall to my room. The door was open. What if I’m not ready? What if everyone is right and he’ll hate me? I questioned inwardly. Please, Nikky. Since when have you cared what people think about you?
I was right outside my door. The bold 210 was blaring in my face. “This is it, Nikky. Time to meet the man.” I reached out to take hold of the door knob only to have it ripped away from me.
“Hey! You must be Nikky. I’m Liam Grayson”

Hey! Thank you once again for reading this. And thank you to everyone that commented on chapter two! All of you are my new favorites.
I have a bit of a dilemma. I have decided that Megan Fox is a little too mature for this story which means, I no longer have a person to play the main character! I want to make it up to you to decide. Based on what you've read, who do you think should play Veronica? Leave me a comment, send me a message, let me know! I'm not going to make a comment limit on this but I do want your input. the recommendation I pick will get a dedication on chapter four! Thank you!
