Fire.

That's what she felt.

Flames licking up and engulfing her, heat coursing through her veins. Sparkfur blinked out, watching a few of her clan mates quietly sitting around his pale tabby body. Some cat had tried to clean the blood off his fur, but they had given up.

Red stained his fur. He always kept sleek and tidy, a magnificent sight next to Sparkfur's unruly coat. She could see Berryfoot talking quietly to Frostheart. Her dear brother wasn't friends with the fallen warriors, but he was close to Frostheart who was feeling the impact of losing a friend.

Sparkfur refused to feel such terrible emotions, not again. She only experienced them once: the sickening feeling when she cracked his name out of her mouth. They always used to call each other's names to see if they were okay, but this time he didn't respond. She had called his name again and padded closer to him, and touched his shoulder with a lifted paw. She had seen his sharp gold eyes dull, and it scared her.

She didn't want to feel such a pain again, where she thought she was going to be sick. She had sat there by the creek water until morning when a dawn patrol found them like so: Ryeheart lifeless and cold and bloodied, Sparkfur draped over him to try and shield him from the world.

And now she sat at the edge of camp, shadows covering her narrow frame. Berryfoot caught her eye and quietly spoke to Frostheart before standing up and padding to his sister. There was no sunlight to catch his bright red tabby fur: just dark clouds from the sky with weak rays poking through.

"Sparkfur..." He said gently, and she stood up tensely. She didn't want to talk about her 'feelings.'

"No thank you." She said curtly without hearing another word.

"Sparkfur, please. He wasn't a bramble den warrior, so..." He glanced up at her and she flicked an ear.

"I know." She whispered. Cats who weren't in the bramble den or having a mate in the bramble den weren't given any proper burials. No vigils or rosemary to cover the scent. Only important cats got such treatment. But he was important to me.

She padded closer to the vigil that was about to be cut short. Asterfoot padded toward her, she could smell sharp and sweet herbs on him, and she immediately recognized it. Watermint. The older medicine cat had placed the sharp scented plants around Ryeheart's cold body. Her breath seemed to be knocked out of her: Asterfoot had remembered when she told him she was teaching Ryeheart to swim because he loved the water. He smiled at her lightly.

"I picked a kit to be my new apprentice in a moons. He seems eager-- did you want to see him?" Asterfoot smiled, probably a fake smile. She shook her head slightly.

"No, maybe later." She dipped her head to the blue-gray tom who blinked in surprise, before she padded off toward the High Oak.

She just stood at the base, looking up into its ominous branches, before a sleek gray tom with deep green eyes stepped out of the Bramble den. She could just see the outline of Waspclaw still in the den.

"Sparkfur." Mintstar addressed her, and she blinked.

"What do you plan to do about the rogues?" She asked bluntly and he flicked his tail.

"We're discussing it now, but we're thinking about doing what MarshClan did.." She raised her eyebrows in shock, ears pricked.

"Oh?" She breathed, closing her eyes. "I want in, then."

"I'm not sending you undercover to the rogues. They might know you're actually DrizzleClan and kill you." He shot back, his head lowered. The golden she-cat stood up straighter.

"Who cares? I've got no reason to even be here, might as well make me useful." Waspclaw had stepped out by now and was nodding.

"We should send her. She'd be great at it, with her defying attitude." Sparkfur couldn't tell if the deputy was being sarcastic or not.

"No-- we just... Not her!" Mintstar growled. "We should send a Bush warrior!" He referenced the lowest class den of warrior: bush warrior. They were ranked under Cedar den, and we're usually new warriors or warriors not very skilled in battle.

"No way! If they got in a jam, there's no way they'd be able to defend them self. I can fight well enough to be a bramble den--" Waspclaw glared at her with copper eyes, "--warrior and I know I'd get everything needed done!" Berryfoot had noticed she was talking to Mintstar, and had padded over. He looked upset.

"Sparkfur you can't!" He growled.

"Shut it, Berryfoot! She'd be perfect. She can fight and nobody would miss her--" Waspclaw shrugged as Berryfoot's fur prickled in agitation. "She doesn't have a mate or kits, and she probably never will." For some reason, and the she-cat wasn't sure why, his words stung her. Words usually didn't hurt. These were like claws being raked down her muzzle. Berryfoot knew it and was on edge, about to tussle with the older deputy.

"It's fine! He's right, but what if I make it out alive?" Sparkfur twitched her ears, and Mintstar tipped his head up. "I can do it!" She breathed, eyes a light with fire. "There's nothing stopping me, I can do it!" Mintstar nodded.

"Fine. You, Sparkfur, and a few other carefully selected warriors will be sent undercover as rogues to join the Rouge band." Berryfoot opened his mouth to protest, but Sparkfur closed her eyes with a 'thank-you.' She had nothing left to lose with Rueheart dead. Nothing left. And nothing in the way. Nothing in the way of her getting her revenge.

So earlier I told you about a contest I was holding on my DrawCast! The picture featured in this chapter is the winner, the user painting_Paw from DrawCast is the artist! Her wattpad username is Painty_Paw but I don't believe she's active here. You should get the DrawCast app, especially if you like to draw on top of writing! You can get it on iDevices as well as Android. Here are the top four winners, going by their DRAWCAST usernames (I don't know their wattpad ones, sorry!) I highly suggest you follow them because they are all very exceptional artists!
1st: painting_Paw
2nd: WarriorCats1206
3rd: Willow Falls
4th: sky dog
Congrats, you four, and everybody else who joined! You were all great! My DrawCast is Mooseling in case you wanted to know :) I'm very active there, mostly at least once a day. It's really great: you make and post art, OCs, join/make roleplays, and make friends. It's got a TON of different fan-bases, major ones are MLP, Warriors, Steven Universe, FNAF, and just general wolf packs, dogs, cats, etc.
