Eclipse: Chapter 15

by Dracanoth and Spottedleaf9

(Dracanoth)

The great city of Whiterun was a blur. Unimportant, worthless, nothing but a pathetic wormhole filled of Nords native to a vile land known as Skyrim, a corrupt dark horrible arousing nothing inside of my except for my hate of this land. Michael does not matter, Valisilwen the worthless.... Worthless..... Worthless Dragonborn, and Jordis the nosy house carl of Solitude. None of them mattered, that were valued as much as the scum surrounding me. Even Valisilwen...

All that mattered was the Black Book, that's all. In the great city of Whiterun I was surrounded by filth, it made me want to cringe. Nords passed by showing their grand smile of the great honor of their homeland, the hearty land of the nords as they so believed it. Their ideals of a peaceful world among one that was ridden with war was as cruel satirical and ridiculing as the humans ruling over all of those trapped in a land full of grime and dirt below them, never showing a shred of mercy for the beings that wanted nothing but a breath of fresh air, freedom, and liberty. Through all the scum of the self-righteous beings, I could feel the power resonating from the Black Book. The fact that the people surrounding me couldn't and were able to simply go about their daily lives proved their dirt priced existence in this world.

All of them were watching me too they wouldn't take their pathetic grimy thieving little eyes off of me. It made me want to hurl.

At last the Dragonborn pulled me from my thoughts and opened the door to her home. We all waited outside as she brought out the Black Book. She arrived at last, and immediately my eyes were drawn to it... Black tendrils encased it, and I could feel the divine presence of Hermaeus Mora.... "Learn... Come to us... Let knowledge evolve you..." The book whispered to me, I could feel it wanting me as much as I wanted it. I hungered for knowledge.

"Let's get this over with." I said, ready to move out.

Far into the woods outside of Whiterun where no mortal soul could disturb me, the ritual took place. I corrected myself, no mortal soul could disturb me even if I was in town. The disgusting creatures in this world could never have souls. They're so ignorant of what humanity is truly like, striving for goals that cannot be achieved while disregarding whoever they harm like those they triumph to find joy and steal it for themselves, they could never have any sort of morals to drive them in life. They were without souls.

Michael ran toward me, something overcame him. "Dracanoth, you know what you're doing is wrong, you met Valisilwen, you met Jordis, they are good people, you can't do thi-" The clash of steel on steel. I pushed up on his blade, shoving him back, and in his open position, went for the kill. In that instant a fireball erupt from my hands, slamming into Michael, and casting him deep into the woods. His limp body was knocked far away, and my pathetic General was no more.

The Black Book lay before me, black tendrils whipped about seemed to anticipate the upcoming events, the book was calling to me. It was time. Jordis called to me, her voice cracking with emotion that I now understood. "Dracanoth, you don't have to do this, please! Valisilwen is here, it isn't too late, you can change everything, you can save your-" She was cut short as she slammed into a tree, magic coursed through me and I hoped to the bottom of my heart that her rotten core had been destroyed, and that she had died. The emotion in her eyes was foolishness, nothing came of it. She was just as pathetic as every other Nord. I approached and opened the book, and the immediate pull overcame me, and the tug-of-war began. Black power tore through the landscape, slashing trees and destroying limbs, the forest around me shook. But none of that was of any importance. Minutes passed, as I finally gained the advantage and began pulling the power out, exposing it. I looked to Valisilwen and cast a soul-trap spell. Her body went limp and she tumbled to the ground, a white essence just like I had heard poured from her, tumbling towards the book, and my spell, like an ocean of power.
