~Pete's POV~

I followed Brendon to the staircase in the next room. We were starting up the steps when Alex and Jack nearly tripped themselves running down the steps.

"Well, hey boys!" Jack grinned as he ran into a wall. He laughed as Alex stumbled to keep from running into him.

They both had messy hair and their clothing was a mess. It was obvious what they had been doing, but that was Jack and Alex for you...humping like rabbits wherever humanly possible.

"You sick fuckers." Brendon laughed, rolling his eyes.

"We're one of those things." Jack winked.

I looked down at the floor as they began to talk back and forth. I couldn't bring myself to do it. To be social or want to try...

"Hey Wentz." I looked back up in enough time to see Jack coming in for the hug. He squeezed me tightly, making me cringe a bit from the cuts on my arms. I hugged him lightly back.

"Doing okay, Wentzy boy?" He asked me quietly.

"Fine as always." I nodded.

He pulled away with a skeptical look, but didn't press on. Alex came over for a type of bro hug and smiled. He didn't say anything, just gave that reassuring smile.

"So, what are we doing tonight?" Brendon asked after receiving similar hugs from Jack and Alex.

"I dunno, what can you do in a creepy house in the middle of the dark of the night other than what we've already done?" A grin slowly spread over Jack's face as he spoke.

"Gross." Alex rolled his eyes.

"Wherever you guys didn't do that, let's just chill." Brendon said with a roll of his eyes.

"Avoid the last three steps on your way up plus door two and three." Alex bobbed his head back and forth, turning to walk back up the steps. Jack went too, followed by Brendon, then followed by me.

I jumped up the last few steps, following Brendon's lead and Alex's advice. I followed, silently. I didn't have anything to say. I wanted to have a good time with my friends, but my brain wouldn't click. It wouldn't listen to me... I felt ready to shut down completely...

"This one has a nice view of the moon." Alex lead us into a small room with a broken window.

"Yea, the lack of barrier between us and the outside is very aesthetically pleasing." Brendon crossed his arms with a head nod.

"Shut up, smart ass."

"At least my ass is smart enough to talk."

"Is that supposed to be a fart joke?"

The three continued their back and forth and I walked over to the window. The moon was in great view of the window. I sat down, just in front of it, looking out. What a beautiful view...

"Pete, we'll be a room over!" Alex called out to me.

I nodded, still looking up at the white orb in the sky. I liked the moon. At night, it helped keep the darkness away... But not all of it.

It made me wonder about life without the moon...

Life without the stars...

Life without the 'life' part...

Would anyone really miss me?.. Brendon would... Maybe Jack and Alex... Home wouldn't... My parents would probably be happy to sell my stuff and use my room for whatever the fuck they'd like.
