Trying to find parking spots in New York City was a bitch. No matter how early I left, there was never anywhere to park. There was a parking garage right around the corner from my job but I definitely wasn't the one to pay for a spot.
Lucky for me, there wasn't much of a problem with that since the guy that works there has an enormous crush on me so I was able to sweet-talk him into letting me park for free if I gave him my number. Of course I gave him the Text-Free number because he definitely wasn't getting my real one but it made him feel good about himself and I got to park with no charge so I was happy.
Living in New York, you didn't really need a car but if you're a bit lazy like me, it's definitely good to have one. I actually didn't mind public transportation but I always wanted a car ever since I was younger so when the opportunity arose, I just decided to buy one. I had a 2014 black-on-black Range Rover in honor of Mr.T. I knew he would've loved a car like this so I got it just for him.
Me and Lauren entered the doors of Ford Modeling Agency located on 57th and 6th Avenue at 8 on the dot. We were 2 out of 35 different casting directors in the building and we definitely had an eye for talent. We've been there for about 4 years now and I just got promoted to Head Casting Director which meant all final decisions went through me.
There were a few that were cool to me but most of them were pretty stuck-up. I never understood why but it might be because they feel like they have some type of entitlement here but in reality, they didn't.
Today, we were going to be casting for a few fashion magazines as well as New York Fashion week and there were going to be over 100 candidates coming in. It was only going to be me, Lauren and a guy named Michael so I knew it was definitely gonna be a long day.
Transitioning from music to the fashion world was not easy but with everything that was going on like me having to pay for school, pay bills, pay for my brothers to go to school and paying for my father to get into rehab, I just didn't have as much time as I used to and the passion for it sort of died along the way.
Lauren and my brothers have been begging me to get back but I just don't have the same motivation for it like I used to. I hope and pray that I can have it again one day. For now, I was focused on keeping the bills paid and a roof over my head.
As we got off the elevator, we saw the long line of models waiting to audition and I knew there were going to be more coming in. There was a variety of men and women from all different races with many different body structures. They were all beautiful to me. We were on a tight schedule with all these events coming up so soon so we were trying to get as many models as possible.
Walking past them on our way to the audition room, one person in particular caught my eye. I could see that I caught his too since he kept his eyes on me the whole way. It felt like he was about to burn a hole into my face and trust me, I would let him.
