Chapter 6-Jayden Miller's POV

Do you know how my parents got to know about: how my sister died, why I had to make traps, my amulet and more?

Well, of course, I told them about it.

At first, they wouldn't believe me, but when I showed them my pale, poor and sympathetic sister and my amulet, that's when they believed me.

The conversation went something like this:

Dad: Tell the truth, son. We just want to know what happened to Jade.....

Me: Dad, I already told you everything you need to know. From playing hide n' seek to Jade dying.

Dad: I'm afraid, Camille, that our son is lying to us.

Mom: That's not true, James, he's telling us the truth! Can't you see his innocent? He's telling the truth....

What's the point if you tell children to tell the truth if you don't even believe them?! That's what always happens to us children, adults tell you to tell the truth, you do, but the problem is that they don't believe you.

How about we go back to where and when I was dragging my limp sister to our house, how 'bout that, huh?

The tears were uncontrollably streaming from my face now. I can't explain how I felt right now. I felt numb, like I couldn't feel anything anymore. I walked through our backyard and remembered all the fun times we have had with each other.

Like the time when I was just walking, inhaling the sweet fragrance of the flowers in bloom.

Suddenly, I felt a tingling sensation on my back. I looked behind me but saw no one. Then again I felt something tickling my back. Yet again, I turned around, this time faster than awhile ago. I was about to storm to my room already when I heard a soft giggle, while a few deep chuckles.

My parents had water guns in hand and were still squirting the water at me. I grabbed a water gun that fell and squirted at them. "Stop, Jayden, stop!" I still went on, making them laugh.

I was flabbergasted to see my parents and my sister, laughing so hard at me that I was sure they would soon have abs. I'm so happy to be the centre of their jokes. They were amused of course, I was okay with that, as long as they were happy, I'm fine.

I said, "You're such a traitor, Jade!" smiling happily at them. They smiled back then we had a group hug. When we pulled away, I asked my parents if I could steal Jade for awhile. They said yes, happy that we were getting along.

I pulled Jade, and looked her straight in the eye. She already knew what 'that' meant. I positioned myself, ready to fly. When I looked at her, I said, "Ready, set, go!", and with that we flew, very fast. You probably would've called it running but I prefer flying, it's much better and more appropriate than running. I don't even know why they even named it running.

I reached my room first, of course, so I opened the door for her like a gentlemen. I smirked at her, "Yeah! I won!" I told her. She smiled her beautiful smile, the smile that everyone, let me repeat, everyone loves, even I. "Why'd you do that for?" I asked her, pouting at her. "For fun, of course." she said in a 'duh' tone. "If you ever need help, you call for me immediately, got it?" I asked her. "Yes, brother! Anything for you, my dearest." She answered.

I awoke from my trance when I felt someone saying, "What happened to Jade?". I felt myself shudder and a slither went down my spine. I opened my mouth to say something, anything, but no sound came out.

I stilled myself, "She's dead, mum. Do you hear that? She's dead, dad. I'm the reason she's dead! Blame it on me. I wouldn't blame you if you decided to kick me out, but if you kill me, that's even better. I'll never forget what I did to her."

My mum shook her head, her beautiful blonde hair falling out of its messy bun. People always said that when Jade grew up she would look just like mum, but now, she'll never be able to grow up, have fun, and what I consider the most important, to enjoy life. Now, I looked at Jade, and I saw it was true.

She was starting to look like mum, starting from her eyebrows to her way of speaking, they were like twins. The only thing different between them was that mum was blonde while Jade had jet black hair, just like dad. "It's not your fault, Jayden, God has just decided to let your sister spend an eternity with Him, your sister's lucky, you know." I was boiling mad at what my mum had said.

The nerve of that woman! I exploded. "How dare you! My sister did nothing wrong to you, so leave her alone! She's your daughter! Don't you get it?!"

"Don't shout at your mum, Jayden! She's just saying that your sister's lucky she got to spend eternal life in heaven than in hell."

Oh! So that's what she meant. I thought she was happy that my sister's dead, it was not that after all. "I'm sorry. For shouting at you. Though that was mean, talking about my sister like that...." I said.

"That's okay; I understand your pain, Jayden." she said, looking teary-eyed at my sister.

"I'm sorry, you know, for letting her die."

"We told you Jayden, it's not your fault."

I froze as I evoked the memory of that... that horrible juncture that occurred in my life.

Well, now the only thing to do is continue my awesome life, I think.

I hope I'm doing the right thing.
