The Bond-A Pokémon Fanfic

The Unusual Workday

Crystal outstretched her arms as she woke up. She got out of her bed and put on some clothes. As she slid on her shirt, she realized that she needed to pee. Afterwards, she walked out of her house and locked the door.

"It's my first day going back to work." She thought to herself. Crystal pondered what her punishment would be for not calling in to let Professor Oak know she couldn't go to work. Her mind then trailed off, and she ended up thinking about what happened with Suicune.

"Ah, Crystal you're here." A calm voice stated as she walked in the door. "Yeah, sorry for not being here yesterday. I was, uh... sick." She replied calmly. He looked towards her, scanning her face. "Well, I'm glad you are feeling better today. If you don't mind, could you fly out to Route 5? There is a new Pokémon there that I have not yet researched." He asked, still looking at her. She stood there for a moment, thinking. "Sure, no problem!" She smiled.

After Crystal made it to Route 5 with the help of her Xatu, she looked around for any Pokémon that fit the description given by the Professor. She heard a rustle, and looked around. "Come on out." She whispered to herself. Another rustle, surprising her as it was behind her.

Suddenly she heard a bang, and turned around. A small Pokémon with a red V shape on its head sat next to it, cringing. It looked up in pain, noticing her stare at it. The small creature floated up and Crystal snapped a photo of it. She pulled out a Pokéball and threw it down. "Megaree come on out!" She shouted.

A Meganium stood over the new Pokémon. The small one stared in shock before flying off and fading into view. "Darn! I should have caught it in a Sleep Powder when I had the chance!" Crystal cursed herself. She returned her Meganium and sighed. "I need to pee." She sent out her Xatu and grabbed onto it. The faithful Pokémon flew towards Pallet Town.

As soon as she made it to the lab, she rushed into the restroom. As soon as she was in she had gotten out. "Ah Crystal, you are back, did you find the Pokémon I spoke of?" Professor Oak asked her. "Uh... yeah... I found it..." She groaned in worry. "That's great! Now could I see it please?" He asked in a happy tone.

"Well... Professor, I didn't... really... catch it..." She braced herself. "What!! But... Crystal! I thought you had the special ability to make it easy to catch Pokémon!!" He shouted in disbelief. "I'm sorry sir!! It flew away and turned invisible!! I only got a picture of it! Please go easy on my paycheck sir!" She whined in regret. Oak turned and looked at her. "You could have said you had a picture, you know."

She cringed at his tone, and hesitantly pulled out the picture. Oak examined it carefully to be sure that no extra details were skipped. After he had finished, he looked at Crystal with a serious face. "I have heard a legend about a Pokémon just like this one." He said to her.

"Does that mean..." She couldn't finish, Oak smiled widely and cheered "YOU FOUND A NEW LEGENDARY!" His voice nearly shattered her eardrum. "You found one! Although..." He stuttered. "It will be very difficult to catch, you know. If you use Suicune, you could most likely weaken it. Then, you could catch it!"

Crystal was getting tired, and Oak just kept going on and on with his ramblings. Finally, Oak looked at her and said "You have a big day tomorrow, so take the day off and rest!" Before he had any chance to send her off, she was flying home with her Xatu.

Crystal was in her bed, yet again relaxing, pondering many things. After a bit she sat up and pulled out her Master Ball. Out of it came Suicune, and he sat on the floor next to the bed.

"Why did you do that?" She scolded him. Suicune stared at her in confusion, and grunted. He got up and started to walk away towards the door. "Hey!" She stood up. "Don't just leave, you know you are in trouble!" Suicune payed no mind to her rants and walked out of the room.

Crystal continued to stand there, flustered. She sat back down on her bedside and put her hands over her face. She was afraid. Afraid that she was overthinking this whole situation, and that nothing is wrong. She felt herself trembling violently.

"I... I just don't understand... why..." She felt her eyes welling up with tears, until she heard a soft snort. Looking up, Suicune was at the doorway, looking at her with worried eyes. "Go away... You aren't helping anything..."

Crystal looked down at her balled up fists. She stood up, walked around him, and into the bathroom. It was strange. She never needed to use the restroom so much.
