Can I go home nowwwww?? I thought to myself.
"Is there a problem, Serena?" my last period teacher asked me.
I said that out loud? OR.. can that lady read my thoughts...
"I can read your thoughts," teased Mrs Bemmy.
"Hahaha," I said in a bland tone.
"Alright, I know It's your last period, but you are still in school. Therefore it is my job to make sure you get an education." she said in a high pitched voice as she walked from her desk to the Promethean board.
"Ok," She continued, " this generation is very remorseful for exhibiting horrible vocabulary. It's overall horrible. None of you can disagree because when I graded each and every one of your essays, the biggest words I found were the two things written by the blank labeled 'name'. For a bunch of 16 year olds, that's horrendous. If you haven't guessed, today's focus is on word choice. I want each of you to take out a sheet of loose leaf. You assignment is to right down ten of best words you can think of. For example, sadistic, abrasive, umm, well you get the idea. And here is the best part, you have to right down the definitions too." she rose an eyebrow and smirked. "whoever has the best words gets to leave class seven minutes early, with a written pass."
"OHHHH!! This just got real, yall!" Yelled a person from the back.
"Yes, I believe it did, Tyler." Mrs Bemmy played back, "you all have fifteen minutes. If you use your phone, dictionary, ..... neighbor, or anything besides your brain, your disqualified. Get it? Got it? Good."
DING.. she rang the bell, allowing our fingers to start writing our ideas.
10 vocab words:
1)abolish: to demolish and or destroy
2)adumbrate: to give hints about the future
3)capitulate: to surrender or relinquish
4)egregious: something terribly negative

7)languish: to increase weakness
8)opaque: not see through
9)scurrilous: to curse or use foul language
10)vilify: to spread gossip or false rumors
I finally finished all ten words, and was quite proud of myself. I started to struggle but hey, i made it through using my big girl words!
Mrs. Bemmy walked around looking at our words. She looked pretty impressed as she walked down the aisle.
"Wow. I didnt expect yall to take this assignment seriously, but good job. You know what? You all are dismissed. Yes i realize that we still have a good forty-five minutes left of the day, but im sure you guys can manage to find something to do."
She began to write out all 32 passes and dismissed us.
ME: Hey guys! Mrs. Bemmy let us out early! See y'all later!
LOLA: Are you kidding me? Mr. Harspin said he is holding us twenty minutes after class. Lucky you. 😑😑😂😂
