It was November the 20th and people could feel the Christmas scent in the air. After a week, you could bet all the stores would be decorated with dazzling colored lights, coffee shops would probably start playing Christmas music while people eat and each house would put a Santa in their chimneys. Even some of them had already done that job because why not? Maybe those extravagant decorations would make a person laugh when she or he passed through that door. That's what Emma Dally, the newbie, thought when she hung outside her department the cute crafts her cousins and nephews had helped her to make. But that's what she thought, likewise other neighbors.

But not Calvin Solano.

"Isn't this cute Cass?"

"Ehh, cute in a weird way but I guess it is."

"They were so excited when they showed them to me."

"How can you be so patient with children?"

"Well, since I-"

"What the heck is that?"

"Eh, who are-"

"Oh! You must be the neighbor that lives near Mr. Fonn, Calvin right? Nice to meet you, I'm Emma."

"Well Emma, you should consider taking those things off."

"Why should I?"

"Because they are horrid, what's that? A big red ball with three legs?"

"Oi! That's rude!"

"A wise advice is what I've just told you."

"..."

"Did he just walked off?"

"Yes, he did."

"What's wrong with him?"

"Maybe he's just not into the Christmas spirit."

"Such a terrible life."

"There is never enough time to do or say all the things that we would wish. The thing is to try to do as much as you can in the time that you have. Remember Scrooge, time is short, and suddenly, you're not there anymore."

-Ghost of Christmas Spirit, Scrooge (1970)
