once upon a lonely morning
i met with a beautiful girl.
she pulled me close and said she loved me
and i believed her convictions.once upon a happy afternoon
i sat arm in arm with that girl.
we talked, we kissed, we made passionate love
and i whispered that i would marry her.once upon a joyous evening
i waited at the altar for my girl.
she smiled at me as she took my hand
and i said the dangerous words: "i do."but ...
once upon a moonless night
i shouted at my girl.
she cried, she screamed, she told me she hated me
and dawn broke when she was long gone.
