Misunderstandings

As Sindy approached her friend she heard the cute guy in glasses say: "I hope we'll meet again." Which shocked her but also made her really happy because that meant a guy actually liked Rox for the first time and he was especially cute.

" Umm... Good job I guess. That was an interesting technique. I don't understand why you didn't go straight for Harry. Well done anyways. Sorry I didn't get us a drink I -"

" Woah woah woah . Hold up one sec. What do you mean ' didn't go straight for Harry?'. I just did. " Interrupted Rox.

" Um no you didn't. " Sindy said confused but then relised what happened and burst out into a for of laughter.

" SINDY STOP LAUGHING AND TELL ME WHAT IN THE LORD OF THE RINGS NAME IS HAPPENING!" Boomed Rox now getting annoyed with her friend.

" Omg... That was incredible. That wasn't Harry. The second guy you asked was. " Sindy stopped to catch her breath. " So technically you just asked some random cutie. Woah Rox that made my day thanks. "

Rox was now fully embarrassed. She prayed that she will never see that guy again.

Thankfully no more embarrassing things happened that day. The two girls simply went home and got ready for the day to come.

Half a turn of the earth later , the sun rose and Sindy again came to Rox's house , dragged her out of bed , complained about her masculine clothes and they both walked to school.

Rox had Art and Sindy had English so they split ways. When Rox approached her locker she saw Kat there and groaned remembering what happened yesterday.

" Heya Rox. How are you? I can't believed what you did yesterday. You probably don't know but I already know the answer." Kat laughed.

" Wait what?!"

" Yeah. After Harry got his coffee he called me to tell me this story of how you embarrased yourself in front of the whole caffe whilst screaming at this guy whether he preferred um , well you know, and like then Harry told me you turned around and asked him. Then he said" of course I replied with silk" Kat explained. " so I know now. Thanks. Bye" Kat walked away laughing.

Rox had no time to reply. She forcefully opened her locker trying to forget everything that happened. By the time she reached her class she was too busy thinking about the new star wars movie coming out to care about yesterday's events.

She got in and sat at the end of the middle row like always. She had a gap between her and the next person because there were plenty of seats and there is no reason to sit next to someone you don't like. Not many people did art so the class was half empty.

Whilst scribbling in her book she was interrupted by her teacher, Miss Bounty.

" Sorry to interrupt class but we have a new student joining us today. Why don't you introduce yourself Ashton?"

Oh no. Rox thought as she saw the guy's face.

" Hey I'm Ashton Irwin. I just moved here from Perth. "

" Okay Ashton, to get used to the class and meet some people why don't you sit next to Roxanne. She's our greatest student"

Oh no.

Ashton looked up with wide eyes looking at Rox. His shocked expression quickly change into a smirk as he approached her.

Oh hell no

" Hey there underware girl."

" Don't call me that. " Rox snapped.

"Why? I think it's a fitting nickname for a friend ." Ashton teased.

" We're not friends. I don't even know you. "

" Well you know I like boxers. "

This ( unfortunately ) made Rox chuckle. But she quickly regained her serious expression and decided to continue with her drawing and ignore Ashton for the rest of the class.

About 25 minutes of silence passed when Ashton glanced over at her drawing of a dragon.

" Is that Smaug?" Ashton asked.

" Yep"

" That's really really good. "

" Thanks"

Silence.

" So you're name is Roxanne?" Ahston asked after a while.

" Ugh, yeah unfortunately. Please call me Rox or even underware girl. Anything rather than that. "

" Ha. OK underware girl. "

"Jeez." Rox replied with a small smile.

" Wow !" Exclaimed Ashton.

" What?"

" You're smile looks like one a little kid would have. " Ashton said mesmerized.

" Umm" Rox simply hummed confused.

Ahston realized what he said and blushed. " Nah I mean it's beautiful... Cute I mean. Like innocent but nice. Do you get it?" Ashton stumbled against his own words.

" I think." Rox said smiling again but this time wider.

" Nah scratch that. You're smile is definitely beautiful. "Ashton added.

At that point Rox froze. Her heart did something it only did when seeing an anime character unmasked for the first time. It beat faster.

Before Ashton could ask if she's okay the bell rang. Ashton stood up and left after saying " See ya ." quickly.

Wow thought Rox.
