A new start

Her eyes flickered as she saw the advertisement that was posted on her profile wall. The words processing in her mind as she read the message. "Step by Step roleplay huh? Sounds cute" She said as she clicked on the link on the bottom of the ad. She read the foreword of the roleplay and was quite interested when her name was on the wishlists. 

"Kim Taehyung wishes for Bae Irene of Red Velvet.." She read aloud since the rest of the members were probably snoring by now.

It became quite a hobby for her to do this every night. First it was out of curiosity, then it became an obsession for her. Irene found the website by clicking through a link at Tumblr promoting a roleplay. Tried one out, the memories were endless, until it died out and the new roleplay memories replace the old ones. She's happy to have found a suitable one since the one she joined last time died out.

"Probably worth the try. Might as well join" Irene said as she requested in the comments to roleplay as herself, 'Irene'. Little did she know there was a few people same as her in that roleplay hidden behind the characters that were actually themselves. 

They hid their identity as she did with hers. 

An idol.

She received a notification while reading the fanfiction other fandoms wrote about their idols.

'Your comment has been replied!' It read at the corner of the website. Irene smiles giddily as she clicked the notification. 

'Your request has been accepted, please make an account within 24 hours and add all the admins :) The profile links for the admins are at the foreword. After you have done all the requirements, please comment the link to your facebook profile. All smiles, Admin IU'

She began to fulfill the requirements as she adjusted her old facebook profile to suit the new one- although she always roleplays as the same character. Herself. She unfriended old friends, sending them off with her memories of them. Quit all the old groups from the previous roleplay and set a new profile picture. She let out a loud huff as she sent a friend request to each of the four admins and posted a link to her profile in the comments.

"Unnie, why are you not asleep yet?" Yeri asked as she rubbed her eyes, still on the breach of awake and asleep. The shocked irene closed her laptop quickly as she let out an awkward laugh. 

"Nothing, I was barely doing research. Go back to sleep" Irene said as she turned her chair back to the desk and opened her laptop.

Yeri nodded as she snuggled back in her warm blanket.

Once she thought it was safe enough, she stopped watching those youtube videos and opened a new tab and clicked facebook on her bookmarks. Irene quickly logged in to find notifications of friend requests and friend request acceptance. She opened the friend requests list to find three names utterly familiar to her. 

  'Taehyung Kim has requested to be your friend'
  'Wendee Son has requested to be your friend'
  ' 김석진 (Jin) has requested to be your friend'

Irene clicked accept all as she then read the post that was posted on her wall by the head admin Lee Jieun (IU) welcoming her to the roleplay as the other admins did below. Out of politeness, she thanked the admins and started to engage a conversation with them.

She was ready to hit the hay after replying to the last post when a bing can be heard through her headphones. Kim Taehyung had posted on her wall. Irene quickly refreshes her browser after reading so. She was welcomed by him with an action of glomping her. Which was quite suitable for his character for the fact that he has the nickname 'Alien'. 

Irene glanced at the clock at the corner of the computer screen. '2:43 AM'

A few interactions wouldn't hurt, the event tomorrow won't start until 8 AM anyways. Irene thought as she clasped her hands then followed typing a reply. Seconds turned into minutes, minutes turned into hours. By the time they both bid their goodbyes it was already 5 AM.  She felt close to Taehyung although she and the real person have never spoke before, even though they met during broadcasting music shows at the same time period.

Wendy is not going to be happy. She thought as she shut her eyes into dozing slumber. Letting her dreams fill her mind. Curious of what the other person acting as Taehung's real face is like.
