"HEY! WAKE UP! YOU'RE GONNA BE LATE"

"Coming mom!"
Ugh.

5am, June 9, 2015; Tuesday

My first day of being a college student. I don't feel like getting up at all. This is such a drag. It's hot and early. Why must I have a class of 7:30am?! WHYYY!

Okay. So I am being rude for not introducing myself. My name is Jackson Overland Frost, but I prefer Jack Frost because my original name is really long. I'm 16 years old, White hair, pale skin. Loves the cold but too bad it doesn't snow here in Philippines. Accounting Student in Polytechnic University of the Philippines [A/N: PUPians out there! XD]

"GODDAMNIT JACKSON! YOU BETTER GET DOWN RIGHT THIS SECOND OR I'LL DRAG YOU DOWN HERE!"

"COMING! SHEESH"

My mom really loves to shout. She's so loud, you could hear her three blocks away. And if she shouts like that, she'll have to explain that 'oh. I've been shouting for like blah blah. The neighbors even heard me blahblah.' Like that.

So, to begin my day, I came downstairs and I quickly sat on the chair and ate my breakfast. It was bread with coconut jam inside with hot coffee on the side. Mom was cooking. I was waiting for her to-

"I've been shouting for ages and you still haven't come down! Do you wanna wake the neighbors because of you not waking up?! Huh?!" See?

That's my life anytime whenever I'm far from her and she's calling me. But I can tell you that despite that attitude of hers, I still love her as my mom.

"Right right. I'm going to take a bath now." I quickly stood up.

"Was it really necessary for you to ask permission when you could just go there without asking me?"

"Okay. Fine. I won't." Sheesh. Does she have a period today?!

I looked at the calendar and there were circles drawn from each date and says 'mom'

Yep. She has period.

Anyway, I took a bath and asked mom for some money. She gave me Php200 [A/N: That's 4-5 USD] I saw the time and it was already 6:15am. So, I quickly left.

I rode three jeepneys to go to my school and got there by 6:59am. 31minutes left before the class starts.

Here we go again with the feeling of being alone. Feeling left out. I just wish I won't be experiencing some solitude this year.

I sat right next to a red and curly haired girl wearing dark green shirt and black pants. She's pretty nice, I guess.

I grabbed my phone and earphones to listen to some music while waiting for my professors when the girl next to me grabbed my hand. Yes, the red haired girl.

"Aye, Me name's Merida. And ye are?" Wow. What a strong scottish yet trying hard accent.

"I'm Jack Frost and would you mind not holding my hand like that?" I looked at my hand which was still being held by hers.

"Oops. Sorry. I feel so nervous about getting friends." Okay. Her trying hard scottish accent must stop.

"Are you, for some reason, trying to learn how to act like a Scottish? Or are you really form Scotland?" I asked with my eyebrow raised.

She sighed of surrender. "Fine. I'm not from Scotland. But I would love to go there. That's why I'm still learning Scottish accent."

"What for?" I leaned my head. Why would she go to Scotland? Not that I'm against it. Just curious.

"That would be confidential sir." She winked.

It doesn't suit her.

"Stop winking. It doesn't suit you." I mocked.

"Haha. Sorry about that. I get that a lot. It's just that, I couldn't stop doing that. Let's just say, it's my manierism. Just a repetitive habit of mine." She smiled.

That suits her perfectly.

And because of that,

I smiled as well.

"You know, I could be your friend. If you want to."  She offered.

Friend? I guess it's not bad. Although, I am looking for some company.

"Sure why not. Friends?" I offered my hand.

"You're not gonna complain, are you?" She asked.

"No, of course not. This is different from before." I smiled.

Then, she took my hand and shook it.

First friend of the day, Merida.

"Now, tell me about yourself." She quickly focused on me like a kid. She's kinda adorable.

"Well, there's not much to tell. My life before today is kinda gloomy and boring. Why don't you tell me about yourself first? I'm sure you got some interesting stories to tell."

"Hm, fine. After I tell mine, you tell yours. Okay?" She pointed a finger at me.

"Okay." I nodded.

The she started.

As she states how her life was like when she was little or when she was in high school, I can't help but feel jealous of her because she had so many friends before. And I, on the hand,

Am alone.

"JACK?! ARE YOU LISTENING?!"

"Wha? What happened?" I was surprised by this girl.

"I said the professor is already here. Let's just continue the chat later. It's really obvious you weren't listening to my story." She looked away and I looked at the professor.

"Hello everyone. I am Mr. Maxon Schreave. I will be your professor for the subject of Filipino. Now, we will discuss about what activities we're going to do and requirements you're going to pass while you are under my provision."

Sounds fun.

Can't wait to learn. Insert sarcasm there.

"Hey.." Merida nudged my arm. "Let's eat later." She offered.

I didn't want to go home early so I nodded.

Even though we're just up until 12:30nn, I know that this will be a long day.
