My eyes widen, his name was like a ghost in my head, it haunts me. He finally let go of me but didn’t let me turn around.

“Are you ok Makenna?” he whispered in my ear. Again, his words were so rich in flavor. His breathing down my neck gave me the Goosebumps.

“I’m fine, why?” I wanted to turn around and look into his eyes, but he was so close I had no room.

“I know what happened.. Your body shakes, you move with uneasiness. You look around every corner, I watch you..”

Leo Ruben watches me?

“Leo, everything’s fine.”
“No everything isn’t Makenna..” Leo’s hand brushed down my arm, made the good bumps reappear. “I feel your emotions, I know when your mad, scared, smitten…” my breathing got heavier. “I can sense your every move. I can smell your aroma from miles away, I can hear every beating of your heart..” his lips was an inch from my neck.
“Leo..-”
“You think you know how it feels to be dead inside?” The tips of his lips pressed on my neck, I gasped. “I can show you show it feels inside and out..”
I didn’t know if I should be scared.. Or safe.
The split second Leo’s lips were off my neck, I had enough room to quickly turn around. I whipped my head, to find nothing but air.
I wasn’t dreaming was I? No, I can still feel the wetness of his lips on the side of my neck..

After lunch in the bathroom by myself, I practically ran to Figure Studio. I wanted to see Leo, no, I needed to see him.
I took my seat in the first row, right in front of him. As usual he stood on the podium for everyone to see him. He did the exact same pose as he did yesterday.
He didn’t look at me the hole time I sat their. He acted like I was never sitting in front of him. I’m to scared to talk to him, it would be very awkward if I was only day dreaming and I asked him if it was him that pressed his cotton soft lips on my neck.
I was shaking so much that my lines weren’t as strait as I wanted them to be, I kept having to stop, erase, redo.
“Relax..” the word was whispered in my ear. I whipped my head to my right where the whisper had come from. No one. Everyone was drawing or moving around to get ready for color. No one was paying attention to me, except for the eyes that met mine when I turned back around.
Leo looked at me like a king would watch his son fight for his honor.

I was now terrified and confused because of Leo Ruben. I felt like his eyes were always watching me, but when I would look, he was doing something totally different and away from me.
I got the eerie feeling again walking home. It got me so worked up once I got to my driveway I ran up to the porch, up the steps and busted through the door. I didn’t think about seeing if anyone was home, which usually no one was.
I ran up to my room. This used to be my sanctuary, the place where John and I would hold each other and cuddle whenever he came over, now it’s a chamber of lost love and regretted memories.

I live in the shadows of my past, I haven’t quite gotten to the fact I can do better than John. I always tell myself, this is the best its going to get. Since no other guy would want me, I’m broken, and a nuisance. No one wants that.

Skipped diner. Went strait to finishing homework, once I finished my grueling English report I started for the washing machine to get my bedding. I made a bed on the floor, on the other side so if you looked through the window you couldn’t see me..
I spent my night crying and covering my ears with my pillow. Poundings on the window and laughs was the music around me. He wanted in again. He wanted me. I had locked my window tonight..

The next morning was cloudy. It’s going to rain again this week. I took my usual route to school, with my hands in my pockets and hood up.
I looked up at my school, something terrible was going to happen I could feel it in my bones.

It was after lunch, John had come up to my locker. He looked at me with his dirty brown eyes, his crooked smile and harsh bad boy lean over me. I was still scared, but stood my ground.
“What the fuck do you want John?” I grabbed a book.
“Awh, baby girl why you gotta’ be like that.” he said reaching for something in my locker. I let him in my locker, I wanted to slam it on his hand.
“Leave me alone John.”
“Your so sexy Makenna. Those slim, soft, legs with your big round brea-”
“Just leave me alone John!” I shouted
“Don’t raise your voice to me young lady. I know a perfect way to close it up real fast.” his eyes checked out my body while his hand reached below my waist. He leaned in to kiss me.
I pushed John off me and turned my head. He grabbed my jacket and had his hand ready to slap me.
I flinched but soon realized nothing had hit me. When I looked a hand had caught hold of Johns’ before he could slap me.
“Leo..”
Everything went so quick, John had let go of me, then I had fallen on my butt. John had been twisted around to be face to face with Leo Ruben.
“The lady said to leave her alone.” Leo spoke, his fist pounded into John’s face. John had hit the floor next to me.
By then a crowd of people had surrounded us and were either cheering or encouraging the two men to fight more.

Leo walked over to me and lend out his hand. “Come.” he demanded. I took hold of his hand while he helped me up off the ground. We had left John their knocked out and with the group of students.
“Thank you Leo.” I whispered. He had said nothing. Maybe I was to soft I thought.
He walked me to Figure Studio. Staying by my side like a body guard. He had pushed our way through the crowds of students just for me. When I started to trail behind, he only pulled me closer to him.

I worked on drawing his hands today, I knew every detail about them now front and back.

I didn’t see John for the rest of the day, but Leo was always close by. He was either getting something from his locker, or talking to some cheerleading girls. It seemed like I was the only person Leo wouldn’t talk to in public. I don’t blame him one bit.

That night their wasn’t any pounding or drunk laughter outside my window. I was safe tonight..

It was finally Friday. These past few days have gone by fast. Homework was mainly what I did now a days. John had stayed away from me all morning. I had told Aleecia all that happened at lunch.
“Maybe he likes you.” she suggested.
“I high doubt that Aleecia.” I took a bite of my corn dog.
“Well, he watches you, he’s in most of your classes, now he’s always around to save the day. He’s totally into you.” She squealed and high five me. “You go girl.”
I gave her a fake smile then looked over at Leo Ruben. He had already finished his lunch and was sitting on a ledge reading a book. I couldn’t tell which one since I didn’t have my glasses on. How stupid I felt when I found myself squinting at his book and he looked up.
