The Sad Sheep

Drew was a sheep. A very sad sheep. He lived with a flock of sheep who were also very sad. This is because they had no wool. They had never had wool before and were always weird and naked looking. Everyone laughed at them because sheep are meant to have wool but they didn't. It also meant they were cold in winter and had nothing to produce to give to the homeless children who needed warm clothes. Their bodies were covered in bruises as they had no soft fluffy padding to protect them, so they had no choice but to go about their days miserably. There was nothing that could be done. Poor sheep.

Also since Drew had no wool, his full name was just Drew Nough. He didn't like that either.

But then one day Drew had an idea that could change their lives forever. He would go to The Wise Old Laurence and consult him about how they could become happy. First of all the Sheep weren't convinced;
"How will this help?"
"Its so boring"
"Kill yourself"
"We're stuck like this forever"
"I hate this"
"The sun is dead"
"This sucks"
"Burn puppies"
"It'll never work"
"Why can't we all just die?"
They all moaned, but after some explaining they agreed. All the sheep then started moaning about why they hadn't thought of it before once they realised it was a splendid idea;
"Hooray!" they cheered (but of course they said it in a grumpy voice).
So off Drew went to speak to Laurence the Panda.

He got to Laurence's tree and knocked politely on the hollow tree bark, making it echo up the trunk. He waited for a short while then someone answered the door;
"Hello?" it was Laurence's pretty wife Kier the wolf.
"Hi, could I speak to Laurence?" Drew said.
"Of course. Wait here while I go get him" and off she popped to get her hubby, flashing her fluffy tail behind her.

Drew could hear murmuring from inside before 2 black eyes appeared round the door.
"Drew the Sheep! How can I help you?" Laurence shaked paws with Drews hoof.
"I've come to ask you a question" Drew cleared his throat.
"Yes?" Laurence inquired.
"How can my flock and I become happy? We've been sad ever so long and it's time that changed"
"Hhhhmm" Laurence said. Drew waited for an answer.
"So can you help?" Drew asked hopefully.
"It's a hard one" Laurence eventually said. "Sheep when they're sad are very hard to cure. It's impossible. Takes ever so long"
"Oh dear.... Are you sure there's no way?" Drew's hope was dying.
"Well...." Laurence wondered. "You could always come to mine for tea?"
"Oh yes oh yes oh yes! That would be great!" Drew instantly replied.
"Well then. I'll see you tomorrow at 4:00 for some afternoon tea"
"Sure. Thank you ever so much"
"No problem. We can discuss this issue in further detail then. But bye for now" Laurence started to close the door.
"See you tomorrow" Drew finished, before trotting off back to the herd. He told them what was going to happen and they seemed excited. Tomorrow they'd surely be rid of this foul sadness.
