CHAPTER SIXTEEN

People think I hate Niall, that I don't care about him. I even saw this one article saying I might have something to do with Niall's disappearance, like I was jealous of him and killed him, thrown him into a ditch somewhere for no one to find him.

It makes me sick to my stomach, I almost broke the computer when I read that, and Liam had grabbed it before I could do anything. He seems to be the only sane one out of all of us. Harry tries to be, he keeps on this stone expression that he thinks shows strength but his eyes are permanently shadowed into sadness and fear, he thinks he built up this wall but all it is is glass, and I see right through him.

Louis is probably the one that hides his emotions the best, he smiles when he's sad, he laughs when he's sad, but I've heard him cry before, when he closes the curtains to his bunk, you'll hear the little whimpers of pure pain and the sniffles that he tries to muffle.

I've told this many times probably, how sad we all are, but there's nothing else to write about, the police have treated us like dogs on leashes, they won't let us near anything, they won't tell us anything. Today might be the only time we actually get to do something, try and find Niall Horan. And there isn't just the boys, me and family, no, thousands and thousands of girls are going to look also, help us, it's a blessing to have this big of a fanbase.

We're starting downtown London and moving up to the countryside, we're looking through every ditch, every hill, every tall piece of grass. I just hope what we find is a clue, not a dead body.

Still searching,

Zayn Malik

"We'll split up into groups, Niall Horan's family and close friends go towards the countryside, through back neighborhoods. Everyone else we will split into groups of thirty."

Zayn stared out into the field of hundreds of people. Policemen with their dogs, fans with their backpacks full of flashlights and snacks on the way. Everyone was so determined, and it made him want to smile, no one was going to let that bastard win.

"Ready?" He felt Louis' hand on his shoulder, trying to act like he's the strong person in the group like always, but Zayn could see right through him, Louis thought he made this brick wall to hide his feelings, but really it was similar to Harry, just a window to stare right into his soul.

He nodded silently, staring into Liam's back that was in front of him as the group marched their way down the streets.

It was weird to have people never stop to ask for a photo, girls would look at them when they passed, but never made a move towards them. They probably knew the answers already. But Zayn felt naked walking down the street, like he wasn't himself. Some imposter was in his body, acting like him. Maybe it was because Niall was the anchor to all the boys minds, he was the string that tied them down so they didn't float away.

"We think we have something!" It had been hours, Zayn was dragging his feet along the ground, knees dirty from kneeling down to search streams and high grass. Liam even went into a pond with some other men, the muddy water high up onto their thighs as they searched for a body or body part. But Liam didn't admit that thought, he said they were just looking for clues, a shirt, a shoe, a sock.

But now it was a break, Louis and Harry were sprinting across the field they were in, dirt springing up from their shoes as they ran. Liam was grabbing at his shirt, tugging him down until they saw two men and a women huddling over something.
