"Are we there yet?" Mar Mar asks. Peja rolls her eyes and says, "It's only been half an hour!" We all sigh when Mar Mar says, "I have to use the bathroom..." I ask Peja, who's riding shotgun, to Google where the nearest gas station is. "2.5 miles away" "If you guys want to, we can pull over and have a snack/bathroom break." I suggest. "Sounds good to me," Annika says and the others agree.
After 2.5 miles, we pull into the BP. Mar Mar sprints inside and Peja and Annika walk into the gas station. I fill up the tank until it's full and jokingly tell Galaxy to guard the car. I then walk into the gas station. After Mar Mar comes out of the bathroom, we grab some Starbucks frappes, Gatorades, bananas, Skittles, Sour Patch Kids, bags of Cheetos and BBQ chips, and a small package of dog treats for Galaxy. We hand the money over to the kind woman behind the cash register and walk outside to the car. Galaxy, who is sitting in the backseat, wags her tail and happily barks when we get back. Mar Mar takes her out of her cage and pets her while feeding her the treats. "That's a good girl!" she says in her puppy-and-baby voice. I put the keys into the ignition and then pull out of the parking lot. We pull into the highway and continue our journey.
