"I'm so stupid!" Christina slams her head into her arms on the table, "I'm so fucking stupid."

"No, you just didn't know..."

"I can't believe I did this, what the hell?"

"He wants you back, anyway, don't worry about it."

Christina sighs, "I never thought I'd owe Sidney for my relationship."

"Yeah," I breathe, "I'm impressed."

"How do you not like him? He's so hot."

"I don't care how hot he is, he's an ass."

"But he's not."

She's right. He's not. "I don't even know anymore... I don't not like him." After he talked to me that night I haven't been able to stop thinking about his feelings for me. And that he's also a pretty nice guy. But the fact that Sidney Crosby likes me is way too much for me. I mean, really, he likes me? Maybe I should give this a chance just because it's him. I'm kind of intrigued by him calling me an asshole. That says something I like about him. At the same time, if I do go out with him, I feel like I will be going against everything I ever stood for. And I hate girls who date guys for their name. He probably does, too.

"You know what this reminds me of?" she doesn't wait for my answer, "Pride and Prejudice."

"What?" I laugh.

"I bet you Sidney did that just to show you he's not an ass."

"That actually takes away his credit."

"No, it doesn't. He did it to help Beau, of course, but he could've come to talk to me much easier... he wanted to show you he's not who you think he is."

"What if he just did it because he wants to get me and prove to himself that he can get anyone he wants?"

"Then he's a fucking cunt. But you won't know until you get to know him better."

I stare at her, "Why don't you go lovey-dovey with Beau again, and then we'll go to the games again and everything and I'll get to know him better?"

"Why don't I give you his number?"

"You have his number?"

Christina shrugs her shoulders, "Yeah," and smiles at me, "Don't get too excited, it's only because of Beau."

I sigh, "It's not like that, I just didn't know you were close."

"I don't know everything about him, Bri. The only thing I can tell you is from what I do know about him, I like him."

"Okay, okay... give me his number."

Christina grins, "I'm doing this with hopes that you'll actually call him." She slips a piece of paper with the number on it into my hand.

I stare at it, "Maybe I should call him now."

Christina raises an eyebrow, "Why? You want my support? I'm up for it but I feel like it's time we get out of grade school."

"It'd be like that if it wasn't Sidney, though."

"No, because you wanting me here while you call him must mean you're scared of what will happen," Christina smirks, "and that means you care about what will happen."

I stare her down.

"You like him. Just admit it. It's not a big deal. He's cute and he's hot and he likes you. Why wouldn't you like him?"
