Chapter Four: Hiding

His body was soar when he awoke, movements were made around him, coming from places he couldn't see. He remember the drop, the falling, he could never remember landing which frightened him a little bit. He wasn't sure what he hit along the way because he found bruises along his body. He hadn't been hurt while being in the Spiral Organization.

He titled his head around. No one had come looking for him, no had been searching for him. He wasn't sure if it was because it was dark or they just didn't want to find him. He was hoping they wouldn't find him. So they couldn't put him away.

He got up stretching and looked around at where he had fallen. The bushes were thick and looked like it hadn't been cut for years. It scared him, what had he missed or, more likely, what had he been through?

He peered around knocking broken bushes down. He moved forward a bit before he heard a loud scratching coming from just beyond a large tree in front of him. He felt nervous, he hadn't adjusted to the outside world yet, he knew it would hopefully come naturally to him. He breathed in a sharp breath and made his way towards the tree as quietly as he possibly could. He gradually got to the tree and pressed his body to it peering over just enough to see the dark figure scratching repeatedly at the white outside of the building marked 'Spiral Organization'.

His eyes adjusted to the darkness enveloping the figure. It was a man scratching at the white building but he could hardly see the resemblance. The man from a distance would look normal but he defiantly was not. The man was to overgrown to be considered normal, his face was slightly contorted. Peter looked closer could see that the mans eyes were distant but were struggling to restore balance, as if the person inside was fighting something.

He heard slight crack coming from behind him. He turned around, quickly.

A girl was standing in front of him. She was defiantly not anything like the man standing scratching at the wall, or the scientists in that building.

The girl for one had a knife in her hand, she was holding it like it was one of the only things that mattered. She starred at him for a moment, then pointed the knife at his chest.

"You make noise we're dead. You move forward, sideways you're dead." she hissed, just loud enough for him to hear. Instinctively he grabbed the knife, he flinched but the metal didn't hurt. It was something he wouldn't of done before, grabbing a knife didn't seem normal until now.

The girl looked confused and frightened. She turned around and ran as far and as fast as she could.

The scratching had stopped.

He looked behind himself.

The thing had spotted him and was making its way towards him.

He ran and he could hear it running after him but didn't dare to look back. He was following the girl. She could run fast and far, without needing to stop.

The thing seemed to have stopped running after him, or had been caught between the thick branches.

He kept running following the girl through the rest of the forest, out into open streets. The streets looked tidy, nothing was moving, there were empty and overturned cars and trucks yet everything looked normal. He kept running. He noticed the wind change suddenly and crouched down, nearly at the same time the girl did, behind a over turned rubbish truck, he then climbed into it. The girl had backed herself into the truck with him.

The girl made eye contact with him only once looking him all over then backed even further into the corner, to where there was only darkness. He did the same not knowing what he was hiding from.

Before he could back himself fully into the corner he heard a loud whirring noise coming from... everywhere? His mind exploded, the logic, everything was flawed. Sound couldn't be coming from everywhere. He cupped his hands over his ears. He wasn't used to this sound. He had never heard it before.

He could also hear movement, loud rummaging movements and beeping. It went for a couple of minutes, he could never get used to a sound like that.

When it ended he could still hear the ringing in he's ears. The girl hadn't of moved from her position yet, it prevented him from moving himself, he didn't like the idea of going out alone.

The girl made a quick movement, running towards him. This time putting a gun to his head, she looked like she was about to say something, but gulped it down "You've got clean clothes." she gestured at his clothes.

Peter nodded.

"Who are you?... What are you?" she was sharp and quick.

"I'm," he paused "I'm Peter."

"You came from that building!" she yelled then looked around friskily hoping nothing heard.

"Yes." he stumbled.

"You've seen it then?" she questioned, with nervousness but excitement in her voice.

"What?"

"Idyll." she whispered.

"Idyll?" nothing she was saying made sense.

"Utopia city, it's called Idyll. Do they not call it that there?"

"Utopia? The Spiral Organization runs a Utopia?"

"Yeah. They run experiments but mainly a Utopia project. If you're lucky to get picked, there were many people around me who got picked. Even my sister..." she trailed off and leaned against the steel wall, she seemed to be off dreaming.

"Your sister?" he said awkwardly.

"Yeah I bet you've seen her there. Her names-" there was a large thump that came from just outside, somewhere inside the darkness "Get down!" she whispered trying to pull me down into the darkest part of the truck.

"What's her name?" he whispered sitting down in the dark, his eyes couldn't even adjust to the darkness.

"Beth, Beth French. Now shut up!" she breathed at him.

His heart skipped a beat.
