Chapter 3

*Scarlett Pov*

"Edward Cullen is staring at you again," Jessica said, again during lunch trying not to move as I was drawing a portrait of her. "I wonder why he's sitting alone today."

"Who cares" I grumbled, I wanted nothing to do with him, as I tried to focus on my drawing but Jessica kept moving and talking so I gave up annoyed.

"Can I see?" She asked as I snatched up my book and shook my head.

"It isn't finish so no" I told her as she frowned unhappily. She went back to sitting still as I opened my book back up and started drawing before her eyes kept darting to behind me, as my grip on pencil tightened. Cedr--Edward had saved me the other day. She kept looking at him giggling and looking back at me as I annoyed, slammed my sketch book closed, slamming it on the table as I glanced over my shoulder. Edward was, smiling crookedly, staring at me from an empty table across the cafeteria from where he usually sat. Once he'd caught my eye, he raised one hand and motioned with his index finger for me to join him. As I stared in disbelief, he winked.

"Does he mean you?" Jessica asked with insulting astonishment in her voice.

"whatever."I growled grumpily, as she looked at me like I had just lost my mind.

"GO OVER!" She hissed as she shoved me in that direction, I glared at her as she smirked. I rolled my eyes and just left the cafeteria which isn't what she hoped. I opened my locker to placed my sketch book back inside, and just as I closed the door behind leaning against the lockers was Edward. I jumped slightly.

"Merlin! What do you want?" I asked him annoyed as he had a smirk on his face and a twinkle in his eyes. Suddenly the bell rang as I slammed my locker shut and went to class. I heard him chuckle, I swear I would much rather spend company with the bastard Malfoy. When I went round the next corner I leant against the locker holding my head, it was giving me a rather painful headache. When school was over it was raining rather hard as I was walking home. I hesitated when I came to the place where the crash occurred. I shook it off as I kept walking only to have a car stop beside me. He lowered the automatic window and leaned toward me across the seat.

"Get in, Scarlett."I didn't answer as I kept walking. I heard the sound of a door opening and closing before I felt a hand on my forearm as I looked up to see Edward dragging me back to the car and placing me inside as I huffed annoyed.

"I'd much rather walk," I said stiffly. He took no notice of my harsh tone. He fiddled with the controls, turning the heater up and the music down. I listened to the music, relaxing against the light gray leather seat. The rain blurred everything outside the window into gray and green smudges. I glanced over to see him studying me with curious eyes. I rolled my eyes as I stared out the window waiting for him to just drop me home. He chuckled at my rather unhappy mood. I slammed the door behind me with excessive force. He was still smiling as he drove away.

The next day, was the weekend as I heard the horn beep from below as the biggest smile erupted across from my face. I ran down jumping a few stairs at a time, not caring that I was still in my PJ's opening the door to see Jake standing with a massive smile that made my insides go warm. I have had a crush on Jake ever since I knew him and that was like ever! I ran towards him with his arms wide opened and jumped into them, as my legs wrapped around his waist. He chuckled.
