Patrolling. Again.

A vampire kicked me hard enough to make me roll backward. I somersaulted to my feet. The vampire jumped to try to kick me twice, spinning. I raised my arms to block both moves, punching him repeatedly in the face. The vampire spun to backhand punch me, making me fall, running closer. I put both legs to his chest, kicking him back, making him fall. I drew a stake, staking him in the heart awkwardly, making him fall into dust.

Buffy was fighting another vampire, grabbing him by his chest, flipping him to the ground, kicking him in the face. Vampire 2 jumped up, spinning in the air to kick Buffy in the face twice, making her fall, running away.

"Where's the other one?" Buffy asked.

"Scampered little a big, bumpy bunny," I answered, helping Buffy stand, pointing to the mausoleum. "In there."

We ran toward the mausoleum, looking inside to see about five vampires feeding on someone, exchanging a nervous look, walking outside.

"I don't care if it is an orgy of death, there's still such a thing as a napkin," Buffy told me.

"A nest," I told her. "No biggie. I bet we could do it. I mean, I know we could take at least two."

"Yes, and then the other ones would suck our hearts out through our necks," Buffy told me.

I sighed. "You're right. It's too many for just us. You know who we need."

We walked into a big, beautiful white mansion, into the office, walking toward the desk.

The desk chair was facing away from us.

"Uh, hi," Buffy told him. "We have a problem."

The chair turned to face us, revealing the short, stocky Jonathan, dressed very sharply in a black turtle neck, smiling and exuding confidence. "Sounds like you could use my help."

We went back to Giles' apartment with Willow, Xander, Giles and Anya.

Buffy was practicing forms.

I was practicing punches and kicks in the air.

Anya was trying to open a milk carton.

Jonathan was examining a crossbow.

Willow was typing away on her computer.

Xander walked in, quickly drawing a stake. "The quick draw is about more than speed. It's also about pointing the stake the right way. And there can be splinter issues." He put the stake away. "It is a true test of dexterity."

Anya held the milk carton toward him. "Can you open this?"

"No," Xander answered. "I tear it and it gets all slushy."

Xander practiced drawing the stake again.

"Thanks for doing this, Jonathan," Buffy told him. "I wouldn't ask, but--"

"Hey, don't worry about it," Jonathan told us. "Nest full of vampires, you come get me. Okay. Box full of puppies, that's more of a judgment call." Buffy laughed. Jonathan held up his hands. "Hit me."

Buffy tried to hit Jonathan twice.

Jonathan held up both arms to block both times.

"You got me," Buffy told him. "It was very punchy."
