Ring a doorbell

I couldn't sleep last night.

It's now 11am. I spent the whole night thinking about possible things that could happen at the dinner party. And I recalled them as I ate my breakfast O's.

1. Nothing. I chicken out.

2. Everything stays the same.

3. Me and Sam get back together.

4. He says its really over, I cry and die.

5. He says its really over, I move on.

6. Jenny makes me go home. The end.

I only liked two of the outcomes.

Outcomes '3 & 5.'

But the others could come true.

I'm going to cancel out outcome '1' because Theresa's going to make me go. No matter what.

I'm going to cancel out outcome '4' too, because I don't think I'll be that pathetic. Hopefully.

Honestly, I'm not sure how it's going to turn out. It all depends from the minute I walk in.

My phone starts ringing. I pick it

up.

Me: Hello?

Stranger: Morning.

Me: Morning... Who are you?

Stranger: Wow. You deleted my number?

Me: WHO ARE YOU?

Stranger: Samuel.

Me: oh... Hi. Sup?

I panicked. What was he going to say?

Sam: Are you coming tonight?

Me: Uh... Yes. I am.

Sam: GREAT! I mean... Good. Okay.

Me: Is that all?

Sam: Is Theresa coming?

Me: Duh... Why?

Sam: Um... Tremor asked.

Me: Oh! Why did Tremor want to know?

Sam: Er.. I got to go. Tell you tonight. Bye!

He hangs up.

Grr.. I hate it when people do that.

I tried calling again but he declined it.

After I washed up my bowl, I went to the sofa and switched on the TV.

How I Met Your Mother was on, so I watched it.

Not long after I got a SMS from Sam:

-

HEY NAT,

SRY BOUT JUST NOW.

TREMOR WAS WATCHING ME.

DONT TELL THERESA BOUT OUR CONVO, KAY? TELL U MORE 2NITE.

C YA,

SAM.

Don't tell Theresa?

What was all this about?

I decided to ignore it and continue watching my show.

Not long after, Theresa rang the door bell. It was exactly 3:30pm. Wow, the girl was sharp.

She wore a white lacy blouse and a pair of faded blue jeans and tied her hair in a braid.

She was wearing brown leather boots and a heart shaped locket around her neck.

She looked pretty.

'Hey gurlll! Time to get fancy!' She cheered.

She hurried me to my room and made me change into a yellow sundress with a cute little ribbon at the side. But she wouldn't let me see myself in the mirror.

Next, she started to tie my hair into a deliberately messy bun. And applied apit of concealer, mascara and a tiny hint of blue hue eye shadow, followed by forcing me to apply lip balm. I never liked make up, but on occasions like this, I always felt like it was a must.

I picked out a pair of beige flats and a simple braided bracelette to go with my outift.

She was better with make up, I was better with accesories and stuff...

Before I knew it, it was 5:20pm.

I checked myself in the mirror.

I'm not going to lie.

I looked amazing.

'Okay, it's a 15 minute walk from here to his place. My phone says it's 5:30pm. Of we get moving NOW, we'll be there early.'

I laughed. She was always punctual.

I grabbed my white handbag and Theresa dragged me out of the house.

Not long after, we reached his home. Theresa checked her phone again.

'Good, 5:45pm! We're right on schedule!'

I adjusted my hair and flattened down my dress before reluctantly ringing the doorbell.

'Hi ther- Natalie? What are you doing here?!'

I frowned.

Let's say I didn't see the person I was hoping to see.
