The store was still unfamiliar to me. I could feel bad senses filling the decrepit building. I start to look in every nook and crany before stumbling upon a smmall piece of paper. It's a map. I think it shows directions to the pathe less traveled, but I'm not sure. The first location on the map is a building on the outside of town. It looks like some sort of tower. I leave the store, but not before grabbing some snacks, and water.
I have only traveled for an hour before cracking open a bag of cookies and opening a bottle of water. Having all of this food makes the walking harder, but it is necessary. While takin my break I notice that I have not passed a single person during my journey. In a city such as Manhatten it was almost impossible to nost see another person in fivesteps let alone an hour walk! I needed to get back home right away. I packed up my stuff and headed to the building. It was almost 6:00 at night already! The wisp was definitly right about the journey being harder from now on.
Cautiously, I followed the map towards the building. I hadn't been walking for very long when I passed a vaguely familiar tree. Not thinking much of it, I continued walking. I had moments of deja vu all thhe time. I must have just been tired. Soon, however, I noticed what seemed like the same tree. This was not right. I had been walking for over an hour now! Maybe there was some sort of clue inside the tree.
I headed over to the tree and started to investigate. Then I noticed a branch which appeared to be partly broken off from the tree. I pulled on the branch and heard a loud rumbling from behind me.
I whipped around and was shocked by what I saw. All of a sudden there were two paths now. In between the fork in the path there was a sign that read 'He who takes the path less travelled will arrive at their hearts content'. It was then that I noticed one path was very well worn, while the other was overgrown with grass, weeds, and small trees. It was very obvious that the second hadn't been used in a very long time.
As much as I wanted to go on the worn path I knew that I needed to take to second one. Slowly, cautiously, I approached the path. I was nervous but I had to do it.
One foot after the other.
Step by step.
I made my way onto the path.
