The next morning, I woke up to a bright Autumn morning; the sun's rays shining blindingly through the window.
"Good day Sunshine." Winked Paul cheerfully, who was knelt against the edge of the bed, popping on a fresh, white shirt.
"Where are you off to?" I asked him, only half conscious, and still rubbing the sleep from my eyes.
"Cavern." He said, tucking his shirt into his jeans. "Rehearsals for tonight."
"Can I come?" I asked him sweetly. After all, I hadn't heard Paul's band preform since my first night at the Cavern all those weeks ago.
"Sure." He smiled. "But you'd best get ready now; John isn't particularly patient."
"As we've established." I teased, whipping the bed sheets off. "Just give me ten minutes."

After throwing on a pair of jeans and a top, and tying my hair up in a quick bun, I returned to the room to find Paul, combing his hair with much precision in front of the mirror.
"I like it when you leave your hair down like that." I smiled, playing with his silky mop of hair in amusement. "It's more natural without all the hair gel."
"I know, you said that at Penny Lane." He smiled, wrapping his arm around my waist swiftly, luring me closer. "Threw that awful gel in the bin."
Which made a lot more sense now, as Paul's hair had been left down the previous day also. I'd just assumed Lizzie had told him to leave it down.
"Well should we get going then?" Smiled Paul. "The bus will be here soon."

Though the bus stop was only around the corner from Paul's house, he still took my hand in his, which was very much of an upgrade from just linking arms.
Twirling me as we walked together, he sang joyfully, making me feel giddy inside.
'We were pulled apart because,
her ma' would not agree,
Tore apart our happy home in Memphis Tennessee'As he sang, I couldn't help but giggle; I'd never been so happy just being with Paul, things felt almost back to normal again.
As we reached the corner, to find the bus by it's stop at the ready, we hopped on. It was a nice change to sit next to Paul on a bus, as apposed to Emily, but strange, as I'd never actually been on the bus with Paul. He said nothing to me as I sat beside him, he only smiled pleasantly.
After but a short time during the drive, I rested my head on his chest, and he observed through the window, as we passed through the streets of Liverpool. His fingers drew circles around my palm as he did so, and I listened attentively to his heart beating through his chest soothingly into my ear.
"Paul?" I said, having had much time to think during our silence.
"Yes?" He chuckled lightly, each laugh causing my head to shake slightly from against his chest.
"Are you certain this is what you want?" I asked, still unconvinced by his previous arguments.
"Not a doubt in my mind." He beamed wistfully.
