Rain pounded on the window of the hospital room. The screams of a woman echoed through the halls as she tried to push her baby out. Her lover stood by, speaking comforting and encouraging words.

Finally, the baby came out, screaming and crying. A perfectly healthy baby girl. The doctor handed the baby to the father, who was crying, while she cut the umbilical cord.
Suddenly, the heart rate attached to the mother flat lined, sending the doctors and nurses into a frenzy. One nurse took the baby and pushed the father outside.

"Sir, you need to wait out here."

"Please! That's my daughter!"

"I understand that. But we have to clean her. We will come back for you when everything is under control."

The doors shut, leaving Logan outside.
He shuffled to the waiting room where Professor X and Storm were waiting. They hurried over, concern written all over their faces.

"Something happened to Annie. She-She flat lined after the baby was born." He spoke softly, trying not to break down. Not here. Not in front of everyone.

"How's the baby?" Storm asked.

"She's beautiful, Storm." He smiled at her. "The most precious thing you could have ever seen."

Suddenly, Professor Xavier stiffened in his chair. He looked at the doors where Logan had come from, then up at the taller man.

"Professor, what is it?"

Before he could speak, the doctor came out. Seeing her made Logan's vision go blurry from tears. This couldn't have happened. Not Annie. He fell to the floor in anguish, not wanting to listen as she told him that the woman he had loved so much had just died.

"I'm sorry, sir. On the other hand, your daughter is happy and healthy. She'll be cleared in a couple days. Would you like to see her?"

He nodded and got up off the floor. He and the other two followed her to where a nurse had just wrapped her in a blanket. Since he was the father, they allowed him to go behind the glass and hold her.

She was so small and light. She fit in his arm like a football. He smiled down at her, a tear or two falling onto her blanket.

"Hey, baby girl.." He whispered. "I'm your daddy." He looked at the other two behind the glass. "That's Storm. She'll be the best aunt to you. And the man in the wheelchair is Professor X. He'll teach you everything you need to know." His voice cracked as he spoke all of this.

After a little while, the nurse took her and put her in a little bed where she would be for the next couple of days. Then, they let Logan take her home. He held her in his arms the whole ride back to the school.

They were greeted by Gene, Scott and Rogue. They all froze for a second when Annie didn't get out of the car with them. Rogue came up to Logan and hugged him. He smiled and hugged her back.

"Thanks, kid."

"So, is this the little angel?" She asked, smiling at the baby in his arms.

"Yup. Say hello to Lily."
