A girl named Lilly and her bampi went out one day and they strolled along the beach with their arms entwined and their hair blowing in the wind as the fresh sea air blew steadily along the coast. It was a lovely afternoon and the conversation seemed to flow endlessly as they both smiled and laughed together. The day went on and they walked off the sandy beach with sand grains that rubbed between their toes.
They brushed off the sand from their feet and put on their shoes and socks and soon walked back to the car where the social worker was standing waiting to take Lilly back to her foster mum named Becky, who is very nice, kind and loving to Lilly. Soon Lilly got in the car after hugging her bampi so tight and then Lilly and the social worker left waving goodbye to bampi. Lilly had tears running down her face wondering when she was going to see him again as she's fostered and has to have very little contact with her birth family.
A week passed by and she missed him more than ever now, she was sat in her room sad thinking about him and how she just wanted to see him again, she wanted to see him so desperately! So she went downstairs and asked her foster mum Becky if she could arrange another meet up with her bampi. "Mam" lilly said to Becky to which she replied "yes lilly what is it now" Lilly gave her a smirk and said "can I see bampi soon please I really miss him" Becky said that Lilly would have to wait a month as that's when the social workers come and visit Lilly to see how she was doing.

A month passed and Lilly went to Becky again and asked with a big grin on her face to see if the social workers were coming soon so she could ask to see her bampi again. Becky looked sad and she lent down and reached out with her hand on Lilly's shoulder and said " Lilly your bampi has passed away the social workers just informed me this morning, he died yesterday"
Lilly screamed "you're lying you just don't want me to see him" she didn't want to believe it NO she won't believe it. Becky said with a calm soft voice " he really is gone Lilly I'm so sorry" and with the look on Lilly's face she had just realised it was all true. Then Lilly just cried and dropped to the floor she was so upset that the only person in her life that meant the world to her had gone. The 12th of may that used to be an ordinary day now turned into hell on Earth for Lilly. Becky picked up Lilly and carried her in her arms and took her to her room to calm her down and she sat with Lilly for a while with her cuddled in her arms and she waited till Lilly calmed down but there was just no words coming from Lilly or any sounds anymore, only tears running down her red soft plump cheeks. Becky left the room and shut the door to let her be alone for a while until dinner.
Hours passed by and Lilly remained curled up on her bed, knees tucked up close to her chest and her head on her knees, she didn't move or make a sound. Becky came upstairs to call her for dinner but there was no reply from Lilly, Becky opened her door and peeked through and said " Lilly you have to eat something " Lilly replied but it was faint and her voice cracked and sounded weak  " he can't be gone! He can't be gone " she repeated this over and over and the tears that she had cried were now dry, she felt empty like she didn't care about anything anymore. Becky went downstairs and put Lilly's dinner on a tray and took it upstairs to her and said " you must eat or at least drink something love " then she left it on her desk and went back downstairs to join her husband and child to eat dinner.
After dinner Becky went upstairs to Lilly's room but she wasn't there "she must be in the bathroom" she thought to herself. Becky walked over to the bathroom, knocked the door and said "Lilly please come out, everything will be ok I promise, it will get easier " and by hell was she wrong to think that things would get better Lilly thought. Lilly opened the door to Becky stood leaning on the wall beside the door waiting for her to come out "I just went to the toilet, I've drank some water but I couldn't eat my food I'm sorry" Becky sighed and just nodded her head "maybe just go to sleep and maybe you'll feel hungry tomorrow" to which Lilly agreed and said "yeah maybe, well goodnight" "goodnight darling" Becky replies in a reassuring way.
