Derek was about ready to go to bed when suddenly there was a horrifying sound that came up through his floor.

Screaming. Stiles was screaming. Once he realized it Derek was running. He hadnt even realized what he was doing as he was running down the stairs and heard more screaming from two other people and they were yelling and screaming like something was killing them.

Derek didn't stop to unlock the door he powered through and kicked the door open. The lock splintering the wood of the door and then the screams were even worse as he looked up and saw that Stiles Scott and another boy were standing ontop of a coffee table in the middle of the room screaming and holding onto each other.

The boy from earlier, Scott, and a taller blonde boy had Stiles inbewteen them and they were yelling and screaming and looking at him and then down at the floor.

"OH MY GOD ITS FUCKING HUGE"

"ITS GOING TO EAT US WE ARE GOING TO FUCKING DIE"

"KILL IT KILL IT OH FUCK IT TOUCHED MY FOOT."

"AAAHHHHHHH WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED WHAT WAS THAT CRASH!!"

"DEREK! PLEASE PLEASE KILL IT OH GOD ITS HUGE!"

Derek looked around for the threat ready to see some kind of poisonous snake or something dangerous. Only to lay eyes on a big black rat that was scurrying around the floor.

Were they serious... They were screaming like this thing was going to kill them. Derek had thought Stiles had gotten hurt.

They were still screaming so he roared at them "SHUT UP!" The boys on the table all froze and clung to each other.

Derek heard Peter laughing at the door as he stalked over and dealt with the issue. (not going to describe)

Once the problem had been resolved Derek stalked over to the three men still standing on the table that might actually break under their weight and he snapped at them. "You three stooges I thought you were being killed down here! I broke down the damn door!"

"You broke my door?" Stiles squeaked as he clung to the two boys.

"Yes you idiot!" Derek watched as the other two boys let go of Stiles enough to get down off the table but as Stiles reached out to get down Derek grabbed him and pulled him off the table not trusting him not to get hurt from such a hight.

Stiles let out a little yelp and then Derek felt him grip his shoulders and a deep part of him enjoyed the feel of Stiles long fingers gripping his broad shoulders. "I cant believe you broke my door." Stiles sputtered as he still hung onto him. He seemed a bit shaky.

"Yeah well I cant believe you three screamed like you were being murdered over a rat." Derek growled at all of them and let Stiles still grip him to keep standing.

Stiles suddenly got really flushed and yelled at him right at his face. "Oh yeah well if you couldn't see and something ran over your foot and it was all furry and you felt its creepy little claws skitter across your toes youd be freaked out to you giant ass!" Stiles was shaking in his arms as he sputtered. " That thing could have bit me. It could have had rabies!"

Derek hated seeing the fear on Stiles face. Hated seeing the tears shimmering in his silver unseeing eyes. Derek realized that he would be terrified to and he didn't know how to deal with this development. He just growled into Stiles face. "Well I killed it. It cant get you anymore Okay!"
