"Babe, wake up. It's almost time to go." I hear Derek call from the bathroom. He stayed at my house last night because our flight to France leaves today. We're going to stop and get breakfast before we get to the airport.

"Babe" Derek whispers in my ears kissing my neck. "It's time to get up."

"Can I just wear sweatpants and pull my hair up today?" I ask him. I'm seriously not in the mood for wearing jeans or doing my hair this early in the morning.

"I mean, I don't care. You'll look great no matter what you wear. Our flight leaves at 5:30 a.m. so I doubt people are seriously gonna judge you." he says, sitting down on the edge of my queen sized bed.

"I just wanna go back to bed. Can't I just stay here and sleep while you go to Paris? I'm so tired." I don't even bother to roll over and look at him.

"I don't think so babe, you're going with me." Derek says, tickling my sides. "I wouldn't go anywhere without my gorgeous girl."

"Flight 362 is now boarding." A voice booms over the intercom. The voice wakes me from my peaceful slumber.

"That's us babe." Derek playfully picks me up and carries me to our gate.

"You didn't have to carry me. I could've walked." I tell him after he puts me down.

"I know, but I'm always looking for ways to sweep you off your feet." he playfully winks as he says this.

I roll my eyes at him and giggle. Him and his cheesy pick up lines/ jokes are gonna be the death of me.

We get on the plane and find our seats. I've never been on an airplane before, but I know this is gonna be awful. I'm terrified of heights.

I finally get settled down and relax in my seat. Derek is quick to put his head on my shoulder and try to sleep. I put my head on his and fall asleep.

"Baby, wake up. It's almost time to land." Derek says before kissing my forehead.

"Mmm I don't wanna wake up though." I say as I squeeze my eyes shut.

"Too bad you've been sleeping for like 8 hours. Now you have to get up."

"I don't wanna!" I whine, sounding like a two year old.

"Okay, I'll just leave you on the plane and let them take you back to America." He says, turning his head away from me.

"Fine with me. I'll go back and get to sleep in my own bed."

" You won't have anyone to cuddle with because I'm not going back." He crosses his arms and pretends to be serious.

"Fine with me. Ashton will cuddle me. All I'd have to do is call him." I say, getting out my phone.

"Don't you dare." Derek says, looking furious with me.

"Why not? And chill. I won't have service until we're off the plane."

"You know why not. It's not funny Haylee." Now he's seriously pissed.

Ashton was Derek's best friend until I moved into town. They both liked me, and Ashton got to me first. Well not technically, but he was the first one to ask me out. We dated most of my sixth grade year, all of my seventh grade year, and all of my eighth grade year. We broke up the summer before freshman year because he was jealous of how close Derek and I were.

"I'm sorry, cranky pants."

"Haylee, you're seventeen, grow up." He looks at me like a child he's scolding.

"Fine, you wanna be like that, I'll get my own apartment. Screw off Derek."
