Who Could Have Thought.. (TavKat Oneshot)

"I don't want to go!" Karkat screeched, trying to hold onto the doorframe.

"Too bad, you have to." Kanaya attempted to pulled Karkat off.

Today was Tavros's wriggling day, of birthday as the humans say. Of course, Karkat would be happy to celebrate a wriggling day, but it was Eridan who he wanted to avoid.

"Karkat, please.. We need to get going to his hive! We'll be late!" Kanaya tried to reason with him as she kept trying to pull Karkat.

"HE'S going to be there!"
"Karkat! It's been more than five months already! Let it go! You two broke up, big deal.. Didn't you say you were flushed for somebody else already? Tavros I think?"

"Well... Yeah but still! Eridan is going to be all smushy snd fucking gross in a corner with Soll- AH! Put me down!!!" He kicked his legs as Kanaya brought him to the motorized vehicle.

She opened the passenger door and forcefully sat Karkat down, buckling the seat belt for him.
"Safety first."

"Safety my ass.." He grumbled, crossing his arms.

"What was that?" Kanaya looked at him, glaring from the corner of her eye.
Karkat loved Kanaya dearly, but at times.. She was a fucking terrifying person.

"Uh.. Nothing! Let's just fucking go already! Jegus.. Did you bring the gift..?" He tilted his head, looking at the jade blooded troll.

She sighed as she buckled her seat belt and started the vehicle, "Yes, the gifts are in the back seat. I had put them in here when you began to throw your fit about Eridan." She backed out of the driveway of their home.

"Yeah yeah, whatever.. Don't need to include that part.. You just want to hurry over there so you can make out with Lalonde in a room or something.."

Kanaya immediately flushed, clearing her throat as she focused on the road she drove on. "I.. Will admit that I do wish to see Rose.. But I am certain that we will not be 'making out' any time soon. We will all be there to celebrate Tavros's wriggling day. Although, I hope Rose does not bring any alcoholic beverages to this party. If that does happen-"

"She'll want to make out and probably pail?"

Kanaya nodded, making Karkat chuckle.
"Oh you should be talking! You and Eridan did the same thing at that 12th Perigee party!"

"CAN WE NOT- ugh.. Please don't mention him.. Please?!" Karkat looked away, staring out the window.

Kanaya frowned.
"I'm sorry.. I shouldn't have brought him up.. I know the break up was devastating for you-"
"Yeah yeah.. Just drive.." Karkat sighed.

The rest of the car ride was in complete silence, other than the classical music playing from the radio. Although, the volume was really low.

They had arrived, parking in front of the Nitram home. Different colored balloons were placed outside along the windows and doorframe.

'Must have been Jade and Feferi who helped decorate. They would destroy Tavros's place with balloons. Fucking balloons everywhere!' Karkat thought to himself as he saw the balloon decorated home.

"Oh good.. He's not here yet.." Karkat sighed of relief when he saw Eridans car wasn't anywhere in site.

Kanaya smiled softly and place her hand onto her moirails shoulder.
"Good, now you can at least enjoy the small gathering before he arrives. When he does come, I'll be sure to glare at him."

Karkat let out a small laugh and nodded. "Thanks."

They both exited the car and both grabbed their gifts for Tavros from the back seat.
They walked up to the front door after locking the car. Kanaya knocked.
