Along the way I called Adam, feeling guilty and unfaithful.

"Talk to me." Ha said.

"Call it an animal attack, there isn't enough evidence to support a murder. The girl is weird and she's unlucky"

"Yeah, " he said, "I'm talking to the toll booth guard and he's confirming she reserved the camp grounds."

"What a shame." I said.

"Listen, I spoke to the guys, the foresics team will need some time with the body, afterwards the clean up crew's going to take over, in the mean time they'll be having some drinks over at Jack's...if you want to join us."

Adam Jones was inviting me out for drinks. God knew how much I wanted to say yes but I needed to beat the time.

"I'm really sorry Adam, I would love to say yes but..."

"But...?" He repeated.

"I really need that beauty sleep." I swear I could palm-face the moment because Adam had been temptation to me, I've had wet dreams over him, and the one time he actually invites me I'm forced to say no.

"I understand Belle, next time."

"Yeah next time."

"Gets some sleep" he said and hung up. I unzipped a lunch bag and pulled out an energy drink, I downed it in two mouthfuls.

" I can sleep when I'm dead."

I pulled up to the white and black apartment complex on 262 SantaCruz ST. When the DeathMarch ringtone sounded from my cellphone, I instantly knew who it was and answered on the first ring with a preppy girl tone, "Hello, Isabel Morte speaking how can I help you?"

"Wait seven seconds." The male voice said.

"Dad, if you see that message your forwarding this call, which is not cool-"

"The line is secured."

"Spill it." I said.
