Harry's POV
As we walk along the snow trodden path Hermione goes on ahead of Ron and I. "Did you hear her go on about us two snogging?... As if!"
"I'm sure she was only using it to prove her point Ron." I wonder if he will ever realise how she feels for him.
Hermione slows her walk down so we catch up to her within a few steps. She throws an arm over each of us and begins to speak but i don't hear her as I've recognised the voice of the person in front of us and they seem to be having an argument.
"It's nothing to do with you!" I here the smaller girl who I recognise as Katie Bell shout. The girls seem to start wrestling for the package that appears to be in Katie's hand.
Before I know it Katie shoots up six feet into the air, her arms and legs gracefully straight as if she was about to dance but as she let out a blood curdling scream it was clear that whatever was happening to her was causing her immense pain. Her hair is slicked back out of her face, her eyes clamped tight shut. As we rush over Ron and I try to pull Katie down. But as we do she falls to the floor writing and thrashing about. "Katie! Katie its me Harry!" I say grabbing a hold of her shoulder trying to settle her down but to no avail. "We need to go get help, whatever this is, its not pretty," I announce.
"Harry. Here's Hagrid," Hermione tells me as he turns around the corner.
"Hello you three. I've just been out visiting ... What's happened here?!"
"Katie. I think she's cursed from that," I say as I stand up, nodding at the open package noticing an opal necklace inside. As I step away from Katie and towards the package to pick it up she starts being flung back and forwards across the path.
"Don't touch it! None of you touch that package!" Hagrid shouts. As he lifts up Katie and places her over his shoulder. "Let's get her back to the castle."
We all trudge behind Hagrid the whole way back to Hogwarts and almost as if she knew something had happened Professor McGonagall appears at the front entrance.
"Why is it when something happens it is always you three?" Professor McGonagall asks.
"Believe me professor I have been asking myself the same question for six years," Ron replies and I can't help but snicker.
"Is something funny Mister Potter?" She questions.
"Sorry I just can't believe it's taken him six years to realise we attract trouble, or at least I do."
"Yes well..." She replies, "can someone please explain to me what has happened?! Why is Katie Bell lay in the hospital wing right now?!"
Hermione goes on to explain to Professor McGonagall what has happened but all she does is nod along throughout. "Well at least we have an idea of what happened afterwards but what I want to know is how she ended up with the package in the first place..."
"I'm afraid we can't help you with that but Professor," Hermione answers.
Just as she does Snape appears behind us,"Professor Snape. Just the man I wanted. Would you be able to tell if an item had been cursed? "
He walks over confidently to her side and looks at the item in question, "I could certainly try." He pulls his wand out of his cape and points it towards the necklace lifting it gently up in the air and spinning it around slowly without having to lay a finger on it, "I'm afraid this has been cursed with very dark magic Minerva. One beyond the boundaries of an ordinary student."
An ordinary student. That's how he put it. As if some students would be able to do it. But dark magic. With dark magic I know only one. "Draco." I say under my breath.
