Chapter 6

We had both been sat in the car for around 20 minutes now and neither of us knew what to say. That's when it hit me.

"Oh my god." I gasped, gaining Jai's attention again.

"I'm never gonna be a parent, or get to grow up or do anything I wanted. I'm gonna end up dying." I said, tears streaming down my face again, as I brought both hands to cover my mouth, to silence the sobs.

"Don't say that. Bea, I won't let that happen to you. I won't let him touch you, I'm here for you now-

Im not going anywhere."

It's amazing how certain words can change your mood automatically and make you feel so much safer all at once.

"You promise me?" I asked quietly.

Jai cupped my face with both his hands and brought me closer, "I swear."

-Monday morning-

"Mum I'm taking the Range Rover!" I shouted, reaching the last step and entering the kitchen to see Jai sat eating breakfast and my mother making pancakes.

"Okay sweetie, I'll take the smaller car to work today, do you want some breakfast?" She replied, turning round.

I hesitated for a while before declining as I wasn't all that hungry.

"Bea, you have to eat otherwise you won't get muscles!" Jai teased, taking a sip of his orange juice, I gave him a glare before grabbing a banana.

"Happy now?" I asked, showing sarcasm.

"Right well, I'm leaving now. Jai you coming?" I announced, putting my banana skin in the bin.

"Nah I'll stay at home today." He joked back, making me laugh... Not.

"You really need to work on your jokes babe." My mum said out of no where, making me laugh.

"See?! That was funny!" I finished before walking over to my mum and kissing her on the cheek.

"Have a nice day hun." She smiled as I slipped my shoes on and grabbed a random handbag from my collection, hung up.

"Bye!!" We both shouted walking out the door and getting straight into the car.

Even though we didn't have much of a house, we had our cars, mum got this after dad left with his money and he never noticed so we kept it.

"I want a car like this so bad." Jai whined.

"Quit moaning, I have something to worry about today." I replied, focusing on the road.

"Oh. Yeah, sorry babe." He replied bluntly. Way to go Bea you ruined the mood.

"Hey, let's not let the thing ruin our day, just stay with me at lunch and break and I should be fine, I have all my lessons with Layla and some with you. It's all good." I finished smiling.

"Ever since you told me about the whole list thing I've got myself real worked up." I started, chuckling.

"Why? It's a good thing isn't it?" Jai responded, confused.

"Yeah, but I'm not exactly the best role model am I?" I replied laughing.

"That's what people love about you!" Jai explained laughing.
