I was walking through the woods, the mist as thick as ever. I heard a snarl from behind me, it sounded like a wild beast, I started running and running but it was gaining on me, I looked around my shoulder but tripped before I could see what it was, I face planted the dirt, I felt breathing on my neck and whoever....or whatever it was started chanting, Luxus...Luxus...Luxus

"Luxus!" I sapped awake, Andromeda was standing in the doorway, "breakfast is ready when you are."

"Oh," I let out a sigh, "thanks, I'll be down in a second."

"Alright." She turned on her heels, her deep, frosted green, velvet dress dancing around her bare ankles. I rubbed my eyes, that was quite the rude awakening. I sat up and put my legs over the edge of the bed, slowly standing up. I wondered what time it was. I lumbered over to the door way, walking through Andromeda's room and down the ladder. She was sitting at the table, slowly eating something that looked a lot like eggs.

"Luxus. Come, I made you eggs."

I walked over to the table and sat in the other chair, there was a plate loaded with scrambled eggs but it had tomatoes and some meat in it. "What's in it?"

"Tomatoes and deer." Andromeda replied taking another bite.

"Deer? Is that normal around here?" I asked.

"Yep, deer is the most eaten meat around here when it is in season."

"So you have no pigs or cows?"

"Nope, we have deer, goat, chicken, lamb, geese, duck, and a few others."

"Alright, deer is weird but at least there's no like, water buffalo or zebus."

"Deer is not weird."

"Eh, I wouldn't say that."

"Well anyway, it taste good." She said, taking another bite of hers. I slowly raised my fork to my mouth, I've never eaten deer before none the less in breakfast. I took the bite, it was surprisingly good, really lean, almost resembling beef but not quite.

"Thanks, it's really good."

She cracked a grin, "I know." after we finished eating she cleared our plates then said "we'll be going to town in a little while, but before we go I'll give you a chance to ask me any questions on your mind, come sit on the couch." I followed her to the couch and sat next to her, "I can almost understand your pain."

"How so?"  I asked.

"When I was younger, ten, eleven, my parents got taken away by the former king and sent to another realm, I grew up with my aunt and uncle who just barley tolerated me."

"Wait, wait, wait. There are realms?!" My gosh, could things get any more impossible? Although I have kind of gotten to the point where it would take a unicorn barfing rainbows and glitter to blow my mind now.

"Yes." She replied like it was normal...except I guess for her it was, "only twenty three realms have been discovered so far, only thirteen are inhabitable."

"Why did they get zapped to a new realm?"

"Rising up," she had a pained expression on her face, I could tell my question was dredging up old emotions, "they were outraged by the tyranny the king was forcing down the kingdoms throat, taxes, slavery, and just down right illegal things such as raiding and hangings. A few months after, he was assassinated and frankly, no one complained."

"Wow, sounds just like a amped up version of an American history lesson." I murmured under my breath.

"Beg pardon?" Andromeda asked oh-so innocently.
