<Sasuke's POV>
He watched as Naruto talked with Sakura. A feeling of jealousy washed over him. He wasn't sure if he wanted to go talk to his team-mates or just watch them sorta creepily from afar. He decided to walk over there and try to converse with Naruto.
"Do you need something?" asked Naruto immediately. He seemed more aggressive than usual. Like he got annoyed by Sasuke' s presence.
"I just...wanted to hang out with you guys I guess," said Sasuke, hoping the two boys wouldn't get into a fight.
"Okay." Naruto turned around and started talking to Sakura again, purposely ignoring him. Sasuke was used to getting ignored, since his father had favored his older brother over him. He just wanted to feel accepted again.
After a few minutes of Naruto and Sakura talking by themselves, Sasuke walked away. He turned around and sighed deeply as he left. He heard Sakura turn around and call his name, but she was soon hushed by Naruto. He walked all the way back to the dump apartment complex he lived in.
*Time skip to later in the afternoon*
Sasuke heard a knock at his front door. He jumped up, surprised. He peeped through the little hole-thing in the door.
"Iruka?" Sasuke had not seen his old sensei in two years. He opened the door with a confused expression on his face.
"May I come in, Sasuke?" asked Iruka without any explanation as to why he was at Sasuke's apartment.
"Uh, sure," answered Sasuke reluctantly. Iruka nodded and came into what would be a living room.
"This place is yours, Sasuke?" asked Iruka.
"Yes. It's mine," replied Sasuke, getting impatient. He wanted to know why Iruka was in his apartment.
"Why are you even here?" questioned Sasuke.
"Because I believe you need my help," answered Iruka. He sat down on the dark blue loveseat.
"Please be more specific, I am not the most stable person." Sasuke tapped his foot impaitently.
"I believe you need my help with Naruto." Sasuke glared at him, speechless.
"Stay out of my business," shot Sasuke. His personal emotions and feelings were not meant for other people's entertainment.
"Now wait a minute Sasuke."
"Out. Now."
"Alright, alright. But I think that you're making a mistake here," Iruka sighed and walked towards the door. He turned around before going out the door. "I can tell you have feelings for Naruto, and so can he. He just feels intimidated by you, that's all." He left without saying anything else.
Sasuke sat down. He jumped at the sound of his cell phone ringing. He looked at the screen. Sakura was calling him. He picked up his phone and answered the call.
"Hello," Sasuke was surprised by the way his voice sounded when he answered the call. He sounded really sad. He felt sad, but Sasuke was really used to being able to hide his emotions inside. It usually didn't show especially not in his voice.
"Sasuke!" Sakura yelled through the phone.
"What??" Sasuke screamed back.
"What was today about?" asked the pink-haired kunoichi.
"I dunno. Ask Naruto..."
"I was hoping he had already talked to you..."
"No, he hasn't," Sasuke was becoming aggravated.
"He hasn't been answering my calls either. I thought he might of talked to you and gotten upset about something you said--"
"Listen, Naruto doesn't like me and doesn't talk to me. Do you need something that I could actually help you with?" questioned Sasuke.
"Not exactly, no." She got quiet for a minute, and Sasuke hung up. He layed down and fell asleep.
Sasuke jolted up at the ringing his phone made. He sleepily looked at his screen. It was Naruto calling. He drowsily answered.
"I'm sorry. The way I acted was not only uncalled for, but it was extremely out of character for me and--"
"I don't need your apologies," Sasuke didn't need sympathy.
"Well you're going to get them anyway. Look Sasuke, you are one of the most interesting people I've met and for the longest time I've been frightened by you. I need you to forgive me for the way I acted so we can move on and become friends again," Naruto paused for a moment, waiting for Sasuke to say something.
"That's the problem Naru," replied Sasuke. "I can't handle being friends. The aggravation of not being able to have you is driving me insane. I see you with Sakura and it causes me to act in ways no one sees coming."
"What are you implying exactly?" Naruto's voice began to get shakey.
"That we have to stop being so selfish," answered Sasuke. "I believe in us, I really do." Sasuke paused, thinking for a while.
"Throughout all these years, we've had each other without realizing it," Naruto took a deep breath. "And I think we were both immature and scared of any type of emotion or feeling."
"Do you believe, Naruto?"
"I think I believe."
