    <Naruto's POV>
    Naruto sat silently in his bedroom. He was rarely silent. Today had been a weird day. He had called and offered to take Sasuke out for lunch. He was hoping to gt a chance to further talk to him.
    "I can't. I'm going out to lunch with someone already," said Sasuke sadly.
    "Who would that be?" asked Naruto. He was secretly hoping Sasuke wasn't seeing and other guys.
    "Uhm..." Sasuke stalled.
    "Oh, come on. We aren't actually dating so it's not like I'd get mad if you spent time with someone else," explained Naruto. Oh course he meant something completely different but he definitely didn't want to come off as too clingy. A good relationship needs freedom and personal space.
    "I already offered to take Sakura out for lunch," said Sasuke. Naruto's heart sank a good two or three feet.
    "Sakura?" He made sure he had heard correctly.
    "Yeah. I mean, she always wanted to go out with me and you seemed a little busy this week so..." Sasuke's voice got a little shaky over the phone.
    "Oh, no no no Sasuke it's okay!" Naruto forced a happy tone.     "Have fun hanging with Sakura! She is a really good girl..."
    "Okay. Well, good luck to you too," replied Sasuke.
    "Thanks."
    "If you think what we have if over, you're incorrect Naruto. I'm not letting you go that easily ya know," Sasuke comforted him in a way no one else could.
    "Yeah," Naruto sighed.
    "What?" Sasuke seemed quite concerned.
    "This entire time we've fought over attention from Sakura. It's kind of ironic how no matter how old we are, we still seek the approval of others."
    "I think you're exactly right. I did promise her I would take her, so I'm keeping those plans for tomorrow," exclaimed Sasuke. There seemed a sort of continuous sadness to his voice.   "Maybe we can get lunch later in the week?" He suggested.
    "Nah, I've got really hard-core training with Pervy Sage the next couple weeks. Sorry Sasuke."
    "It's okay. Uh, I'll talk to you soon," said Sasuke. He hung up and Naruto went back to sitting quietly in his room.
    <Sasuke's Point of View>
    He stood in front of his bathroom mirror. He carefully washed his face and brushed his teeth. He couldn't stop thinking about Naruto. He felt a little guilty for asking Sakura out on a sort of date. He was so tired, he just wanted to go to sleep. He slumped into his bedroom and left the topic until tomorrow.
