Rebel's POV
A calloused hand reaches out gently touching my inner thigh. "Shhh. Everyone is asleep, Rebel. You don't want to wake them." Blue eyes bore into me, they almost mirror my own eyes. I look down frightened. Another hand rubs the side of my stomach, the rough skin of the hand is irritating against the my smooth skin. "Don't be frightened. This is normal, but it's a secret that must stay between us."
"Really?" I ask my voice only a whisper. I wonder if Drew has been through this. I look over, but remember that he has his own room now. He's ten and I'm nine maybe I can ask him. Wait, I can't it's a secret.
"Yes, now be a good boy, sit back and relax, it might be a little uncomfortable so, I won't do too much yet." The hands starts to move, touching me in places no one has touched before. I don't like it, but I have to be a good boy or else I'll be punished. . .
I jolt awake. My heart beats like crazy and my skin tingles in disgust. It was only a dream. No a memory. I look around and notice Angel isn't next to me. Maybe that was just a drea– The is a clatter from the kitchen. Never mind. I pull back the covers and stand up. I slip some sweat pants over my boxers. Quietly I shuffle out of my room and into the kitchen. I watch silently as Angel wipes up some water with his sleeve. I feel my lips tug up in a smile against my will, which seems to be happening more often since i met Angel.
"There are dish towels in the cabinet below the sink." I tell him and he jumps.
"Oh, um, hi." He says standing up awkwardly. I look down trying to conceal my smile and walk to the sink. I grab two dish towels and toss one to him. I kneel down and start to mop up the water and Angel does the same. "You don't have to help. It's my fault. I was getting a glass of water and accidentally dropped it." He explains.
"Yeah, but you're my friend so, I want to help." I retort, the word "friend" seems foreign to my mouth, or at least meaning it does.
"So, were friends, eh?" He asks smirking. I feel my heart do a little flip, like it did when he said "hello" to me before I fell asleep(Last chapter when he tilted his head and Rebel's cheeks went pink). I look down at my moving hands.
"Y. . .Yeah, if you want to be." I stutter.
"Of course. That just made my day." He says sound sincere and I feel my cheeks warm up. It doesn't take long until the water is dried up.
"I can take your towel." I say holding out my bandaged hand.
"Thanks." He says handing it to me. "Mind if I follow along?" He asks as I make my way to the hall to the bathroom. I smile lightly.
"Yes, of course." I say and continue walking with him in tow.
((A Little Time Later))
"So, why don't you have a tv?" Angel asks. We are now sitting on my dark teal couch with a bowl of fruit-loops in each of our laps.
"I didn't really see a need in spending money on one when I barely watched it before." I explain.
"Yeah, but how can you not have a tv, even if you barely use it theirs got to be a time when you do. Like for the news, entertainment, or just plain background noise." He says incredulously. I smile a little.
"You don't need a tv for all of that. I use the newspaper for the news, books or music for entertainment, and music for background noise." I answer. He shakes his head.
"You sound like my grandpa." He grumbles good naturally.
"You mean the grandpa that loves fighting?" I ask. He rethinks for a second.
