Chapter 3

I hate school. Everyone treats me like I'm an idiot, or the pack slut. I have gotten into about fifteen fights, and it's the first week. But, today is Friday. Hopefully I won't get in trouble today. And besides, I have to visit my club to make sure everything is going smoothly.

I was sitting in Mr. Adams class, waiting for the bell to ring. Tobby was sitting beside me. We didn't talk, but it wasn't awkward. Just before the bell rang, everyone ran through the door, including my pack. I laugh quietly and shake my head. A couple minutes later, Mr. Adams walks in. He goes to the front of the room, and writes something on the white board.

He turns around and claps his hands together. "Today we are going to be talking about wars that took a lot of supernatural lives." He looks around the classroom. "Can anyone guess which war took the most?"

I raise my hand. He sighs but nods his head. I clear my throat. "The Diamond war in 1771."

Everyone snickers.

"Were you dropped on your head as baby?" Some guys shouts, which makes everyone laugh.

I turn around and narrow my eyes at the kid. "Yes actually. Twice. Is that a problem?" The kids grin falls off his face, as my ice cold voice reaches his ears. The room quiets down. I turn back around in my seat and cross my arms.

Mr. Adams clears his throat. "There is no such war call Diamond, it was a myth. Now-"

I tune him out. Well, maybe no one know's what the hell it is because almost all of the supernatural race was killed in it. I sigh, and start to draw on my book. I feel someone staring at me intensely. I look up and look around. My eyes connect with Aaron. I raise an eyebrow at him. His eyes swarm with emotion as he looks away. That was weird. My thoughts drift off about the war.

I crouch down by the fire, holding my hands towards the dancing flames for warmth. My mind wonders on the war. It started because a diamond neckless was made for Madame Du Barry, Louis XV's mistress. But when the king died of smallpox before it was finished, and she was banished from court. So Louis XVI destroyed the neckless, causing a war through the supernatural community. It wouldn't have mattered if the diamonds that made the neckless wasn't destroyed. It matters since the diamonds were stollen from supernatural sacred ground, it's a big deal. But rumors have it that a second one was made, but no one knows if it's true or not. Well I know its true, but everyone else doesn't.

A scream shatters the silent night. Even though the camp was set out far from the battlefield, you could still hear the screams every now and then. I wrap my heavy black cloak around my small frame as I get up, and walk away.

"Oi, where ye going Ms. Clary?" William asks.

I turn around. "I am going to check on the wounded. See is they are content Mr. Will."

Will gets up and walks over to me. "I shall acompany you Clary."

Will's coal black cloak covered his tall frame. His blond hair was long, and was pulled back. His deep green eyes shine in the limited light. We walk away from the warmth of the camp area, and to the make shift hospital. We separate and walk along the rows of body's.

I was readressing a sorcerers wounds. This camp is for the supernatural's, another camp isn't to far away where the humans are. I just finished when people came rushing in. More people were dumped in the crampt area. "How many more?" I ask as soldiers leave the tent.
