Friendly Competition

"When did you get here?" Manic asks you, he is leading you to a less nice part of town but you aren't worried.

"Just today actually." You reply, you try not giving away too much.

Manic stops walking, he's stopped at an orphanage. Manic opens the door and lets you in first, he then lets himself in.

The orphanage doesn't look like much, it looked quite old and dirty. A swarm of little kids come rushing to Manic. Manic automatically smiles when he sees them, "Did you get anything Manic?" One of the kids ask. Manic just nods and pulls out the jewels from his bag.

"Let me go give this to Ms. Bassy, she'll know what to do." Manic says, easily moving past the kids and through an opened door.

"Are you Manic's girlfriend?" One of the kids ask, the kid is a bat.

You blush a bit and rub the back of your neck, "Nope, I'm just a friend." You reply, laughing a bit.

"Manic's very pretty friend!" Another kid adds, giving you a bright smile. 

Manic walks back towards you and the kids. "Ready to go?" Manic asks you.

You only nod, giving another smile to the kids. The kids all say their goodbyes which you return.

You and Manic walk out of the orphanage, it is silent for a while before you break the silence. "That was really nice." You say.

"Others don't see it like that, I mean I am stealing from people." Manic replies.

"It is for the better though, you're like Robin Hood." You comment and laugh a bit.

"Who?" Manic asks, giving you a confused look.

"Ah, never mind." You comment.

"Do you want to go back to my brother?" Manic asks.

"I don't mind." You reply shortly.

The rest of the walk is silent. The two of you finally reach the café, Manic opens the door for you which you thank him for. You and Manic walk over to the booth where your friends are at, not including Amy as a 'friend'.

"I see you've met my brother." Sonic says and grins.

"You're back." Amy says and rolls her eyes.

"And you're still here unfortunately."
You retort and click your tongue.

Amy scowls, "I'm going to meet up with Cream, bye guys." Amy says. She gives Sonic and quick hug and leaves the café.

"Well that was awkward." Manic says and laughs.

"What did you get up too?" Silver asked you.

"Nothing much, we just went to an orphanage." You state casually.

"Interesting." Silver says awkwardly.

"We're going to have to sort out living arrangements." Shadow says, changing the subject.

"What? Why? Aren't I going home soon?" You question.

"It's just in case I can't build enough energy to take you back home." Silver comments.

"Plus it may be dangerous, humans can't handle going through the portal twice." Shadow adds in.

You frown, you wanted to go back home, you wonder how your mum is going.

"I can take you in." Sonic says. "Your stuff is all there anyways." Sonic adds in.

"Then I will have to see Amy a lot." You groan and frown once again.

"Why do you say that?" Sonic asks confusingly.

"Isn't she your girlfriend?" You ask.

Silver and Manic both chuckle a bit, Shadow even shows a smirk.

"She isn't my girlfriend, I reassure you." Sonic says and puts his hands up in front of him.

~Time skip~

You all arrive at Sonic's house, "Hey Sonic, where's my skateboard?" you ask him.

"Pretty sure it's near the bag Amy gave you." Sonic replies.

You walk over to the bag and see that your skateboard is there. You pick it up, "Do you happen to have any skate parks?" you ask.

"Yes we do but we use hover boards instead." Sonic says casually.

"Hover boards? Dang, wish I had one." You mutter and sigh.

"Actually I might have one out back. I'll be back in a sec." Sonic says and rushes off.

"Shadow, can you teleport and stuff?" you ask.

"Yes." Shadow replies shortly, obviously not wanting to continue the conversation.

"Here it is!" Sonic exclaims, riding on a hover board.

The hover board is black with one single (F/C) stripe on it. "Wicked!" You say and walk over to him.

Sonic hovers in a circle around you making you laugh, he hops off and passes you it.

"You can keep it." He comments.

You are about to protest until he interrupts you, "I don't need it, my speed makes up for everything."

You nod and smile, you hop onto the hover board. Once you stepped onto it, you nearly fall.

Before you could, a blue light surrounds your body and steadies your body onto the hover board. You look over to see Silver holding his hand up, the same light appeared in the palm of his hand. "Thanks Silver." You comment.

"I think I've got the hang of it!" You comment. Shadow scoffs a bit, making you raise an eyebrow and you hover over to him. "Got something to say?" You comment and smirk.

Shadow returns a smirk and looks away from you, "Just thinking about how I can annihilate you in a race."

"Oh really? Well let's test your theory. You and me, let's race." You challenge.

"Challenge accepted." He smirks.

"It's on. Get ready to taste my dust!" You exclaim, pointing a finger towards his chest.

"Getting confident now, are we?" Shadow comments, taking your hand and moving it away from him.

"Hey, guys no need for racing." Silver says pushing you and Shadow away from each other.

"Silver leave them, I want to see who wins." Manic comments and grins at you. Get ready to be beaten, Shadow.
