Chapter 21

Three hours later...
Time : 10:44pm

I get a call from Brad and after listening to him my phone slips through my hands...

"Hello? " I answered.

'' Saph? Ummm... I don't know how to sat this?''

''Why? What's wrong Brad?'' I asked worried.

''No not exactly, but--''

''But what? Are you alright? Did something happened? Is it Tyler? Omg! It's...its.. T-Tyler right.?''

'' Sapphire listen to me! First you calm down and then sit down! ''

I did as he sais and I sat on the corner of my bed.

'' done. '' I replied.

''Okay..'' he took a deep breath , '' so Tyler was racing and his.. His. .bre-breaks failed--''

''What? '' I shouted standing up.

''Yes Saphire his breaks failed and he.... crashed.''

''Is this a joke..? Because if it is then it's not funny at all. '' I stated with a lot of anger.

Omg! Please let it be a joke. I don't want anything bad happening to him.

''Saph calm down! Unfortunately its not a joke. Just wait there okay? I'll come and pick you up. He is in city hospital right now. I'll take you to him. Just stay calm down ,ok ? He'll be alright. It's just a few wounds here and there .'' He tried to calm me down .

''Omg! Shit! No this can't be happening. I'm coming.'' With that I hung up on him.

I picked some cash, put on my shoes, locked the house and left. I started running to the hospital. Yes you heard me right. I just started running. I can't just wait for Brad to come and pick me up. I have to be there with Tyler no matter what. Fortunately the hospital wasn't that far away. I reached there just in time.

As I reached there I saw an ambulance pulling up near the doors and they opened the back doors of the ambulance revealing a guy covered with blood head to toe. He is badly hurt and I cannot make out whether it's Tyler or not. I just prayed that it's not him. But to my bad luck I saw my friends running out of the parking lot to that bleeding guy and imediately I knew it's him.

I ran up to them. The nurses take him inside in a hurry and I couldn't get a good look but what I saw was enough to make my knees go weak and I'm falling on the ground, with tears running down my face.

I don't know who helps me up and hurries me inside and takes me to the waiting lounge, all I know is that Tyler is hurt.

''Shhh..!! Baby girl, he'll be alright. He is a fighter. '' it's Chris who tries to comfort me. He is rubbing my back while I'm sobbing on his shirt.

''Omg! Why won't you all listen to me when I told you its not safe? Now look! T-Tyler. . He...he. .is hurt.. so bad. '' I let out frustrated sob. They all didn't respond.

Why didn't they listen to me? I knew something bad was about to happen. Omg!! Tyler please be alright babe. Please be alright.

Brad is comforting Em and Charles while Chris is with me. Jordan is nowhere to be seen.

''Where is Jordan? '' I asked.

''He had some stuff to take care of. He'll be here soon.'' Chris replied.
Chris is trying to be tough, but I can see his eyes getting puffier.

''What? He is supposed to be here!! It's Tyler! !'' I retorted feeling something is fishy. As Jordan is a loyal friend and he won't just be absent like this.

''He'll be here and all things will be clear.''

''Chris? You know you can let it out. It's okay. '' I said rubbing his shoulders.

''Your right. How can it happen to him? He knows everything about racing. I can't believe something so bad can happen to him.'' He let a tear trail down his cheeks and soon I started crying again.

''Everything is going to be alright. Just stay positive. '' Chris comforted.

Why do you even try Saphire? Your not a strong person.

'' Brad why did you lied to me? You said it was just a few wounds.!!'' I accused while crying, anger building up in me.

'' come on Saph! I couldn't just tell you the truth while you were alone.'' Brad reasoned.

''But how could ..... you?'' I asked breaking into a sob.

''Shh.. Saph. He is right. Now come on. Be brave.'' Chris said engulfing me in his arms and kissing my head.

We waited for 15 more minutes and then suddenly the door to the waiting lounge bursts open revealing a furious Jordan.

Charles stood up ad asked '' what's wrong? ''

''It was not an accident.!''
