After a long debate with myself, I decided that Alec was worth trusting. I also didn't really had a choice if I wanted to get my revenge. I decided to go with it. It's better than the previous things I've tried to find this person.

"If you succeed in helping me find and punish this person, then and only then will you get to take over Connor's business," I said as I stretched out my hand to seal the deal. Alec took it and with one quick shake of our hands, my entire search changed in an instant.

"What happened in there?" Jay asked as soon as I stepped into his car.

"None of your concern, you were only the driver, remember?" I shut him down.

When we arrived back at our apartment building, I immediataly left Jayden behind and stormed towards my door, slamming it shut as I finally felt the four walls of safety around me.

When I was making this deal with Alec, I had felt confident, but now, surrounded by places and memories of Connor, I doubted if I had made the right decision. Was risking all of this really worth it? Would Connor agree to this if he knew what I was doing? I knew how much this business meant to him, but I had to avenge him. I couldn't do nothing and Alec was my best chance.

I sighed, frustrating about how life had turned out for me. I was happy with Connor and we had everything I had ever dreamed of and it was taken away from me in a split second. I still couldn't comprehend I was left behind.

"You bassically sold Connor's business?" Malia asked me.

I had called her to meet up because I really needed someone to tell me if I had done the right thing.

"Yes, I did. Alec's my only shot. He can really help me. I'm not able to find Connor's killer on my own."

Malia just looked at me.

"Please tell me I did the right thing?" I begged.

"I guess, you're indeed not capable of finding his killer by yourself. Alessia, it's just that you worry too much lately. I'm worried about you," Malia said as she placed a hand over mine.

"I know, I have trouble sleeping because of the nightmares. But what do you expect? For me to just go back to normal life? There isn't one anymore. Not without Connor," I shrugged, knowing I wouldn't be able to fully relax for quite some time.

"I know just the thing for you," Malia smiled deviously at me and wiggled her eyebrows and I wasn't quite sure I liked the kind of smile she was giving me. "Come on, follow me," she said as she took my hand and dragged me to God knows where.

"You've got to be kidding me," I said as soon as I realized where we were.

"Ooh come on, it'll do good to the both of us," Malia pleaded.

We were standing in front of the entrance of Snake Charmer, the club I used to hang out. Connor and I loved going out and just enjoy life and all the pleasures it provided. Just dancing and getting drunk were the plans for our Friday night bassically every Friday night.

I remember all the laugter we'd shared here. All the fun, all the pleasure and adventures we'd encountered here together. It just seemed like a silly club to most people, but to us, we had spent a big part of our life here. We came here when we needed a break from life, when we needed to relax. To simple just forget about everything.

Without knowing, that's exactly what I needed right now and I was glad Malia knew what I needed before I did.

Malia took my hand once more before I could complain. I tried to resist her hold but it was firm and she wasn't planning on letting me go so I just let her drag me inside.

"Well, well, look who we have here. Long time no see," Lucas said once he saw us enter the club.

Lucas was the bartender in Snake Charmer and because Connor and I were regular costumers, he knew us.

"Yeah, I have my reasons," I muttered.

"Well whatever they are, I'm glad you're back." Lucas flashed me a smile. "What can I get you girls?"

"Two shots of Tequila, please," Malia ordered before I could protest, telling her I wasn't going to drink.

Well, one drink couldn't hurt, I told myself as I took the shot from Malia.

"Come on, let's dance!" She shouted as soon as she finished her shot. I let her take me with her to the dance floor, knowing there was no way I could stop her. When Malia wanted to dance, she danced.

The music thrubbed into my ears and I moved to the rhythm of the bass. Malia laughed and took my hands so we could dance together. I smiled as well, happy to let her take my worries away for a while.

"Do you want another drink?" She shouted and without thinking twice I nodded my head, ready to let the alcohol consume me. Ready to let it take my worries and thoughts away.

"To be alive," Malia said as she raised her glass. I just smiled and took a zip of whatever drink Malia got me. It tasted sweet and before I knew it, I had devoured the drink.

We danced until our feet couldn't move anymore, we sang until our lungs hurt from the air we'd used and we drank until our stomaches couldn't take it anymore. I felt alive and I made sure I enjoyed every moment of it, knowing how short life could turn out to be. Alcohol helped me numb the pain Connor's death had caused me.

My vision began to blur and ultimately everything went dark.
