I waited for three long hours.

Three fucking hours.

I didn't realise I had slept until somebody shook me from my dreams.

"Hello? You okay, miss?"

"What?" I spoke rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.

"It's time we shut down ma'am, who did you come with?" the policeman looked at me pitying my condition.

"I, I don't know where he went..." I said searching through the few people about to leave. He looked at me awkwardly and then took his walky talky and spoke to some lady about a lost girl.

Lost girl?

Are they talking about me?

"Yeah, we'll shift her to the waiting room staff...Yes she's conscious...no no she's certainly not drunk...doesn't look like a robber tho...okay.. Roger that."

"Uh, excuse me, I think you're talking about me.. I'm perfectly fine and I guess I'll go by myself. I do not think my brother would come back to take me home.." I tried convincing the policeman on round to not to take me to the waiting room, taking me for some lost child.
God, that would be humiliating if they ever found at school.

Oh crap, I got school tomorrow.

"You sure miss? You don't look like you'll be able to reach home, plus it's getting dark outside. We can call some family member if you want."

"Oh no, no there isn't anybody to pick me up right now, I'll go by myself thank you." I smile politely at the officer and try to stand but just then I fall down on my ass.

"Ouch!" I whine as I fall back on my bruised arm. My day hadn't been any good so far.

"I really think you should get someone to drop you off." the policeman says as he helps me get up.

"They're all at work." I sigh.

Damn, My hand hurt.

"Can you move it?" he asks.

"What?" I ask, he gestures to my hand and I wince as he tries doing some rotating exercises with my wrist.

"It hurts too much." I say biting my lip.

"You might have broken it, you fell real bad, kid. Let's get you to the hospital first and then I'll drop you to your house."

"Thank you." I say, a tear rolling down my cheek. I do not understand why every bad thing happens with me.

Back at the hospital, my parents had been called while I was in for the X-Ray. I couldn't spot Tyler anywhere so I just sighed and prayed that my hand would get better. I tried processing all that had happened today; today was particularly a long day, a lot had happened and I needed ample of time to get it through my head.

"Okay, easy, now you may go and wait outside." the nurse smiled at me and I walked out.

"Honey, you okay?" my mom said hurrying towards me and squeezing my shoulders.

"Yeah, I guess." I say and she takes me to the doctor's room.

"Ah, Amelia Claire?" the lady asked me and I nodded sitting down on the stool in front of her.

"To the bed." she says and holds her hand out for me.

"Careful."

I sit down in the bed and she turns the light directly in my head.

Depressing.

She looks at my hand, turns it around, tries to move my fingers and stops when I scream.

"You got your wrist broken sweetheart. Just wait in the other room, I'll get you a cast." and she left the room. My mum came in with my dad and Karen swinging on his neck.

"Amm! What wrongs with your hand?" she asks loosening herself from my dad's grip.

"Me wants to see." she pouts but dad held her back.

"Am's got a broken wrist, and she's gonna get a cast, so you can draw on it." I smile at her and she giggles.

"I like drawing." she says and jumps down as she spots a little kid outside.

"What were you doing alone in that mall for so long? And where was you car?" my dad asks worried.

"Uh... I came in with Tyler in his ca---"

"You mean Ellen's boyfriend?" my mum asks cutting me midway.

"Yeah, and he's my.. " I stop. It wouldn't be a good idea to let them know about me and Tyler being blood related now and I wasn't in the condition of explaining.

"..classmate too." I smile uncomfortably at them.

"He insisted that we did my birthday shopping as Ellen had to leave and so we came here but I don't know where he went then after buying my dress." I sigh.

"You shouldn't go to malls and places with those kind of boys Amelia. They're not even responsible." my dad says rubbing his temple.

If only you knew he was your own damn son!

I bite my tongue to not let those words slip and nod at him.

"Anyways I got night shift today, I'm going to come back tomorrow morning, and careful next time." he smiles as he kisses my mum and walks out.

"Bye dad, love you." I say.

"Love you too, sweetie. And you're not going to school tomorrow, no discussion starts on this, final verdict." he laughs as I nod.
"Aye aye captain."

Cool. School's flunked.

So good. Shoot.

Mom drove me and Karen home and I plopped down on my bed and immediately went to sleep. A day so tiring, I couldn't do the introspection today. And that is how my day ended; with a broken wrist and a mind running wild.
