Luke
(12 years old)"Well. Thanks Robert." Luke glared at his mother as she gave a exhausted sigh and just shook her head. "You need to stay with Uncle Robbie now okay. Since you are so reluctant to move around. I will send you your allowance monthly, just be good okay, Lucas."
Uncle Robbie. Yuck. Still treating me as a kid. Luke scowled and was immensely unhappy.
Robert was a fat old man who was balding and should have died in a dump somewhere, but for some bizarre reason, related to his mother as a cousin and he constantly gave off an overwhelming stench of his body odour. His breath smelled like pure alcohol and cigarettes. He did not want to stay with him.
"Well kiddo. My house, my rules. Get out if you are going to give me that look."
"Behave." His mother slapped his back and pushed him further into the dark house that Robert called home. It was filled with pests and disgusting as fuck. The pizza on the table was at least a week old, already growing mold and it smelled vile. The only new and unused items were beer and cigarettes.
How the fuck is he going to survive?
-
Robert was a scumbag. He wastes his days drinking and smoking by using up the inheritance from his dead old man, who was surprisingly, a successful businessman in the past.
How different things were, looking at his useless son wasting his life away.
"What you looking at? Huh!" Robert growled. "Looking for a fight?"
He was in his drunken haze of little sense.
Damn.
Luke thought as Robert's palm connected with his face, causing immense pain.
Just six more years. Then I would be free from all this shit.

Luke went to a school nearby. And he absolutely hated it. Two years had passed since he first met Cassie.
The kids in there were dumb and were all going to grow up as thugs.
He wasted his time in the town library instead. The only saving grace of this horrible town. The library was huge and had many books, he imagined that Cassie would like the books here a lot.
I want to see her.
Four more years then he would be of legal age to leave that goddamn guardian of his. He would definitely go and find her.
Remembering about Cassie being a special being, he started to read books regarding angels.
The 'angels', are beings who can see the future of people, sometimes the past. The reason for this ability is the belief that they were real angels who reincarnated into human beings because they have committed a a great sin in the time that they have been an angel.
The thing that dictates that they are one is the presence of aura, a glowing substance that could appear out of nowhere near the angel, and it would forever be tied to the angel's lifeforce. When the owner dies, the glow vanishes. If the aura is far away from the owner, the glow would grow dimmer, but will never disappear.
The color of the aura is dictated by what type of angels they previously were. The known colors, pink stands for them being cupids, blue stands for them being dominions, red stands for cherubim, green stands for virtues, black stands for powers grey stands for thrones, white stands for them being seraphims.
The fate that the angel sees is one of the many fates that could happen. But the one seen is only meant for one particular universe, which is here. When fates are altered, catastophical events might occur, causing the disruption to fates all around the globe.
Angels are cursed beings who shall never return to the divine beings they once are. They are simply paying the price of sinning as a holy being.
After reading the last paragraph, Luke slammed the book shut. How could they say that about angels?
Cassie was just a little different...
He looked down at the Cassie's necklace and prayed, 'I hope this glow will not disappear before I find her.'

He suffered almost everyday, breathing in the stench of that house, getting punched or slapped by that alcoholic ass, wishing time would pass more quickly.
Luke slowly learnt that pouring your heart out was useless as he realized that fate was just playing a practical joke on him. As he got older, he eventually became an unfeeling person, becoming cold and heartless after six years of being in that town that was known as hell to him.
