Cassandra Ester is an 'angel', a person who can see the string of fate, and said to be a real angel in their previous life. This ability caused her to be usually isolated and alone, because of the rarity of it. Especially in the town of Deuver, where there are lesser people compared to cities.
The things she read in the limited information books about angels could not satisfy her curiosity, as there were not many books about them.
She learnt the three important rules; do not view others' fate without permission, do not tell them about their fate in case you accidentally alter their fate, and lastly, never ever, ever change the fate of others.
Cassie also learnt that she couldn't see her own string, and if she was paired up with someone, she could see something special about that someone.
But what was the special thing?

Cassie
(10 years old)It was another ordinary summer day when Cassie eats alone at the back of the house. Should I go to the library or continue staying here and read this book?
Her train of thought was suddenly disrupted when she heard the rustling of the bushes near the fence that connected to the forest and had a hole big enough for a child to crawl through.
She placed her sandwich down on the floor and cautiously walked towards the bushes.
When she peeked into the small gap between two bushes, she saw the back of a boy who looked around her age sitting next to the tree. The boy was plainly munching on his cereal bar and seemed to be alone.
Cassie took a step back, trying to go back to her initial spot but she stepped on a twig and the sound attracted the attention of the boy.
"Hello?" That boy's voice was a little low, Cassie noticed.
Cassie made a barely noticeable sigh and started to talk, still hiding in the protection of the thick bush. "...H-Hello."
"Who are you?" The boy's voice was on edge and wary, as if he was afraid of her.
"...I am Cassandra, b-but you can call me Cassie or Cas," she continued, "And this is the back of my house."
"Oh... I thought no one was here." The boy's voice relaxed a little. "But hello there, Cassie."
"Who are you?" Cassie asked.
"Luke."
"Nice to meet you Luke."
"You too, Cas."
"Hey, so why were you here?" Cassie questioned.
"I like my alone time." Luke replied and it did not sound like Luke liked being alone.
"You... don't, do you?" Cassie uttered the words without thinking.
The silence continued for some time and she hesitantly added some words, "You don't have to answer, Luke."
"I don't like being alone. But I have to endure it."
Cassie made a soft knowing smile and answered, "I hate being alone too."
"So... Uh, wanna be friends with me?" Luke reached out his hand, his being bigger and wider than hers.
"...Okay." Cassie put out her hand, hesitantly moving her hand closer and closer to Luke's. She had her doubts about Luke, but listening to Luke's voice made her feel like her worries were unfounded.
Cassie made contact with Luke's hand and held it. She felt the slightly rough skin on the warm hand, something that her soft hands didn't have. Holding Luke's hand made her a little flustered, and it made a seed of warmth spread throughout her chest, like drinking a warm cup of cocoa on a cold day.
