-Song- Never Been Hurt by Demi Lovato
Chapter One
{{Venus’ POV}}
-May 31st, 1231-
A small, warm, salty tear races down my rouge cheeks, dripping off my jaw and onto the boy that lay before me. The man that wiped away my tears. The boy that lit up the room. The boy that is being taken away from me now.
“P-please don’t l-leave!” I manage to choke out, my throat dry as sand paper.
“Venus, I’m so sorry.” He sighs, kissing my forehead lightly before turning around and leaving me to drown in sadness. My knees shake, then buckle beneath me, tears escape my eyes, and my throat closes up. My head becomes heavy, like it will fall off my shoulders. Like how a baby can’t sit up when it is young because its head is too heavy. Yes, that is what is happening. I face plant into the soft, green grass, watering the seeds with my eyes.
“Venus, dah-ling, come, come. You have a fitting.” Of course Leo is here right now. Can’t he tell I need my space? My best friend just left.
May Mother and Father burn in Hell!

I smile at the peasants, genuinely happy to be around them, unlike Leo, who is cowering away from their touch.
“Be kind, Leo,” I hiss, yanking his arm secretly. “Or you shall not get paid your months earnings!” Suddenly, Leo lips lift in a fake smile as he reluctantly shakes the dirty, mud crusted hands of the peasants. My long, white gown with golden detailing drags after me as I continue on the path to the orphanage.
“Of course, your majesty.” I hear Leo mumble under his breath, earning a disrespectful eye roll from me.
Soon, we make it to the orphanage, Leo in sync behind me, along with a couple of knights and lords.
“Lady Isobel!” I exclaim, excited to visit the home of the children of the United Kingdom, my soon-to-be country. Bel runs up to me, grinning. You see, Lady Isobel and I have been friends ever since he left. Five years. It doesn’t matter anymore, Isobel is my best friend now, no more cocky boys who don’t know how to handle dresses and prettiness.
“Princess Venus!” She exclaims with just as much enthusiasum. My grin turns from ear to ear. “Are you excited?” She whispers in my ear, locking arms with me.
“Bel, you have no idea! I finally get to tell the good news!” I giggle, smiling at my best friend.
“Wait,” She stops, turns to me and smiles. Lifting up her hand, she smooths out my curly, waist length blond hair and wipes off a piece of dirt off my flawless tan complexion. Leo sighs, shaking his head but grinning at the same time. “My, my, Ve. You look beautiful. As always!” She grins at me.
“My, my, Bel.” I mock, giggling. I stroke back her shoulder length, chestnut locks and swipe an eyelash out from under her grey eyes. “You look beautiful. As always!” We laugh, turning towards the door and waiting for a knight to fling it open. My vision blurs, my knees feel weak. Bel holds onto me tight as I use her as an anchor and gasp. All the pain and depression inflates inside me, making me weak as paper.
“N-no.” I whisper, my piercing ice blue eyes look into a pair of green orbs.
