Micheal and Josh spent the next 5 hours hidden in the younger'r room, Josh only exiting the safety of the area twice to grab food and a few glasses of water. Micheal stayed in his Demon form, crisscrossed on the floor as Josh watched the wound on his shoulder heal. The charred skinned slowly sewed itself together, and soon all that was left was a deep grey scar that blended in with his skin.
"That's amazing," Josh said, fascinated with the Prince of Death's healing ability, "is that why my wound healed so fast? Was that because of you?"
"Yes," Micheal stated, clawed hand out to make sure Josh wouldn't lose balance and fall, "please be careful. I can sense how unstable you are." The younger was standing on Micheal's knee, giving him just enough height to look at the new scar. Even the scar was fading already. Josh's hands were on Micheal's shoulder, placed on either side of the wound.
It was the first time he had ever touched the demon's charred and muscled skin willingly. The last time he had made contact with the demon side of Micheal it had been unwilling, and he had had a hand put over his mouth. Well, it wasn't even his hand, since Micheal's demon hand alone was larger than two of his heads.
Micheal's body was clearly made with all muscle, and every time he moved Josh could feel them shift and tense as well. The skin was as thick as leather, and the rough surface clung to his cloths; Josh could feel Micheal's large hand against his back holding his up.
Josh grinned when the wound faded completely. "That's amazing!" he yipped, jumping from Micheal's tall knee. His socked feet hit the ground, and he looked back up at the creature in front of him.
It's weird having a demon in my room, Josh thought, running a hand through his tussled hair. "Have you-"
Josh yelped as a knock sounded on his door, a female voice calling from the other side. "Josh?" it was his mother, "I need to speak with you."
Josh panicked, seeing the doorknob turn. Micheal! She was going to see Micheal! "Wait!"
The door opened, but when the mother entered, she didn't scream or run or even faint. She glared at Josh like he just killed someone.
Josh looked over his shoulder in confusion, for he had ran to the door as it opened. His room looked as normal. Messy bed, open window. Micheal wasn't there.
"Care to explain why you didn't go outside and help with the fire?" his mother said in a blunt tone. Josh knew he could try to explain but he would just get cut o- "Well?"
Josh sighed, putting his head in his hands. "I-I'm sorry," he said quietly, struggling to add a quiver to his voice. "I-I was scared, a-and how could I have helped? Grown men were g-going in there. I would have j-just gotten in the way..."
His mother's expression faltered for a moment, but then she shook her head. "Fine," she said, glancing behind her son. "Where is that Micheal boy? I came in here last night to check up on you too but you were sleeping together. You could have just told me you wanted a relationship, even though I would have much rather preferred that little Emily down the street. She's a sweet little girl- and I love the dresses her mother makes for her."
Josh sputtered, shaking his head. "Wh-What?! You came in here?!"
She crossed her arms, giving another stern glare. "Yes I did. This is my house and I am your mother, you might as well get use to it. Now where did that Micheal go?"
.:*:.
The sun had just set. You know, that time when you just begin to shiver? When the last ray of sun sets? When everything comes to a silent stop to let night take over?
That's when Josh left his house.
He knew where Micheal might as well have went. Where else? Josh was on his way to the park, hands in his sleeves and shirt collar covering his nose. Winter was approaching way to fast, and it made his head hurt when he breathed in the cold air. When he reached the park, he pulled his shirt off his face so Micheal would know it was him and- hopefully- not kill him.
Josh took a breath, stepping into the park grounds. Why Micheal stayed here he didn't know, but it didn't matter. He was here now.
HHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAWWWWWW
Josh tensed up, stalling all movements. The howl was similar to the one he first heard when he came here at night, but it wasn't the completely the same. No, it wasn't a demon creature with razor teeth and bloodied claws. It was a wolf. After a few more howls Josh concluded that it wasn't just one, but a whole pack.
"O-Oh hell," Josh said quietly. He began to back away, but then the first wolf emerged from the treeline. If he kept moving, he'd be torn to shreds. "M-Micheal?" was the only thing he could stutter out. He figured a giant demon creature could take on a few wolves.
What he didn't expect, was the rest of the pack to emerge from the trees. There was about seven in total, the one that came out first standing proud. Micheal walked out from behind them all, in his human form but with glowing red eyes. He smiled wickedly, head tilting to the side with trails of what seemed like red mist coming from his shining orbs. Josh was about to talk, but clamped his mouth shut when his eyes found the blood covering his fingers. The wolves showed off crimson on their teeth and faces as well.
"Josh," Micheal said, letting a slur slip into his speech, "I really enjoyed the taste of your blood the best. These creatures of the forest let me hunt with them, but it's not the same as you."
The younger felt his stomach twist. What was wrong with him? What was he doing?!
Josh didn't have time to blink before Micheal appeared in front of him, gripping the sides of his shoulders. Josh cried out, but the grin Micheal gave him force himself quiet. "I love your scream the most," Micheal said, tugging Josh close, "it is the most beautiful thing I have ever heard."
The last thing Josh wanted to do was scream after that was said, but the pain that followed when Micheal sank his teeth into the scarred side of his neck was too much for him to handle. The sharp fangs easily pierced the soft skin, and Josh subconsciously prayed that his throat wouldn't be torn out.
Josh struggled, grabbing a handful of Micheal's hair and yanking it back. He earned a yelp from the smaller, and fell back when the sharp fangs were torn away from his skin. "MICHEAL!" Josh shrieked, pressing hard against his new wound. Pain blistered from under his skin, and he bit as his lip harshly to keep from crying. "What the hell is wrong with you?! THINK!"
Micheal was standing over Josh, barring his bloodstained teeth in anger. He swayed slightly when Josh gave him a stern glare, locking their eyes until he couldn't stand anymore.
The smaller frame stumbled, falling onto Josh. As soon as the two came in contact the burning on Josh's wound stopped, and when he took his hand away he seen that his bleeding had eased greatly. Micheal was silent, and when Josh looked down he took note that his eyes were closed. Did he pass out? What had happened?
The wolves slowly backed up, and then ran away at the sight of the resting Prince. Josh was left with nothing to hear except the shallow breathing of the demon, and a few voices off in the distance. People wouldn't be outside tonight, for they didn't care for risking their lives anymore, but they would be watching. Even though Micheal might have just tried to kill him, he couldn't leave him. Not like he needed help, but if he was found he would probably kill anyone that saw him.
No one was scheduled to die tonight.
