Chapter 6 - Help!
Anna's POV
After grabbing my phone back from Harry, I had rushed out of the building and onto the deserted streets and had then quickly rushed into the forest to take the shortest route home.
I knew he wouldn't be back today but that was good, it gave me enough time to clean the house to his standards as I knew it would take longer for me with my aching ribs.
As I approached the house I could see the porch light on and reminded myself to turn it off, wouldn't want the electric bill to be as high as last time. It was almost too expensive to pay and I served to be the problem because I was home a lot, although I never told him but keeping his TV and the garage lights on was probably the biggest problem as they run from the highest power voltages.
Once inside I locked the door behind me an then flipped the switch to turn the porch light off and walked into the kitchen, I look at the wall hanging clock to see that it was almost 10 o'clock and was suddenly relieved that my father wasn't to be home tonight as I would have been in big trouble.
Walking up to my room I turned all the lights off on my way, and when I reached my room went in, climbed under the covers without getting dressed and fell asleep the moment my head hit the pillow.

Niall's POV
I watched as Anna quickly ran out with her shopping bags and phone in her hands and thought once again of how beautiful she looked even when she was covered up. I know she was lying to us, we could hear the conversation. Anna didn't know that though. I had difficulty keeping my face straight when I could hear her dad on the phone, she lied straight to him, I understand why though and it makes me murderously angry to find out what he would do, or even what he already has done. He could even be cornering her now.
I clenched my hand on the table, restraining myself from following her. The table cracked slightly under the pressure. The lads were surrounding me telling me to calm down, I knew I should listen I couldn't just shift stood in the middle of the shop, that would scare everyone. I can't even imagine the headlines about it! Niall Horan WEREWOLF? Oh, yea I forgot about that part, didn't I. Me and the lads are all shapeshifters, we were all worried when we found out were going to be put in a group because the only way to tell if they are shifters is if you have been around them for a while and you let your scent show, even if by accident. It is one of our powers as shifters. It keeps us hidden better and makes sure that we can blend in to society, keeping us safe from hunters and other people who wish harm upon us.
I will say that being on tour can definitely be very difficult, being cooped up in a bus or hotel for hours on end. It does none of us any good. Me and Harry find it the most difficult as we haven't found our mates, well Harry hasn't, mine is Anna but I don't want to scare her off so I need to wait for her to trust me. The only problem is can I trust her? She has a strong aura for such a timid human, she, must have supernatural blood in her, what I'm not sure, I will find out.
I turned to the lads once I was calm enough to let go of the table. They were all looking at me. They knew, she was mine, off limits. Not that the others would want to cheat on their mates anyway, I was more worried about Harry, he has no mate to hold him back I just hope we're close enough he won't try anything.
Looking at the boys now they all hold a look of sorrow and pain, knowing how bad it would feel to have their mate in pain from her own family. With the exception of Harry all of the boys could imagine what they would do in my position.
First I need to gain her trust.
It was driving me crazy not knowing if she was okay, knowing that her dad wasn't going to be at home made me and my wolf more at ease but I had seen her slide off into the woods when she thought we couldn't see her, but obviously I have much better sight than a regular human.
Turning to face the group I simply said, "I'm going for a run" before walking out.
Reaching the woods I stepped in and forced my way through the undergrowth until I was a good 500 meters into the forest where I knew was safe to shift without being seen. I didn't need to undress or anything but watching someone change into a wolf would be a certain shock for those who don't know about us. Luckily there were no media around, for they preferred to stay around the shopping centre where we were last seen in hopes we would return to Paul and the rest of the body guards but we had been instructed not to by Paul when the girls were chasing us.
Checking my surroundings I saw and heard nothing living nearby to see me shift so quickly I changed forms. Stretching I smelt the air for the scent I knew wouldn't be too far away, Anna's. In this form all my sensors heightened and made it much easier to pick up the scent. Anna's scent was divine, the smell of cherry blossoms and woodland mixing together to create an extremely relaxing and calming effect on me and my wolf.
Picking up the her scent quickly I noticed it getting deeper into the woods, it made us (me and my wolf) worry. There are lots of different animals in these woods some of them are quite dangerous like me, but she doesn't have to fear me, I will never hurt her. That would mean I would be hurting myself.
I set off at a quick paced jog hoping that Anna was just walking so it wouldn't take long to find her and follow her. Pushing through the plants and bushes in my way and ducking under the tree branches it didn't take long to get to a fresher scent, only about 2 or 3 minutes old and getting stronger by the second as I carried on walking. I could see a light ahead through some trees and nearby I could hear the gentle pat of feet on the ground heading towards the light. Walking towards the buses I get assaulted with scents, the strongest to me was Anna's but another powerful scent was threatening to override it even to me, Anna's mate.
The scent held power, and lots of it, much like Anna's only hers seemed to be trapped. It was also very similar to Anna's, it had the same woodland smell but lacked the cherry blossom and reached more towards death and destruction and a very strong smell of booze causing my nose to almost curl up in disgust. I had no doubt that this belonged to her dad. This particular scent encased the house serving as a warning to animals to stay back. This only encouraged me closer. I quickly covered my scent knowing that it would not be welcome here and could cause some more problems for my beautiful mate.
From the corner of my eye I noticed the light that was lighting up what I know now to be a porch or a nice looking 2 story house flicker and turn off. A minute later the lights leading upstairs and the ones upstairs began to turn off. I saw a room that was illuminated for all of 5 seconds then all light suddenly disappeared. Shifting back I crept towards a tree that would hopefully have a view into the room without me being seen. Quickly scaling it I found a branch to rest on and peered into the window. I could mak eout a small form moving to the bed. Once there the figure collapsed onto the bed and promptly fell asleep.
Switching my face to my wolf form everything lit up as though it was the middle of the day and I could now make the figure out to be Anna.
Seeing she was alright, I sat and watched her for a few minutes making sure she was okay. Then I jumped out of the tree and began checking the rest of the house double checking that there was no-one there.
I found nothing just like I had hoped. I shifted and began my run back to Louis' house knowing that the boys would meet me there.
