Thalia's P.O.V.

"We can't let the media find out about this." Hope said. "They'd find a way to twist it into something negative." "Agreed." I said. "We should tell the rest of the team, though." "Yeah." Hope said. We called a team meeting, and five minutes later, everyone was in the conference room of the Lodge. We explained everything to them. "So you two met and became friends two years before Thalia joined the team and you didn't know till today?" Tobin asked. "Yeah, that about sums it up." Hope said. "Wow." Abby said. "That is so weird." "I know." I said. Two weeks passed without anything negative happening, but on Sunday of the third week, Abby was reading sports news on her tablet when she gasped. "No!" she said. "He didn't! That dick!" "What is it?" Tobin asked. Abby gave her the tablet. "What the actual fuck?!" Tobin asked as she read the article. "What?" Hope and I asked in unison. "Nothing." Tobin said quickly. "Bullshit." Hope said, pulling the tablet from Tobin's grip. We both read the article on the screen.

Soccer Stars Keep Secrets

U.S. Women's National Team forward Thalia Skywalker has been on the team since she was fifteen, but sources reveal that Skywalker was friends with U.S. goalie Hope Solo two years before she joined the team. This new information begs the question: did Skywalker get on the team because of her talent, or because of Solo?

The article went on like this, and as Hope read, her face became more and more angry. "Who wrote this crap?" she growled. "Ah. Timberwood Sports. I expected as much." "There's only one thing for you to do now." Abby said. "You have to call a press conference."
