Meghan O'Hara ran into her older broher Jack's room, tears streaming down her face. Their mum and dad were arguing, again. She might have been 12, old enough to understand, but she hated the sound of smashing glass, and screaming, and shouted, and crying.

Jack held out his arms for his little sister, "Come here, Meg..." He was 13, but instead of been out with his mates all the time, doing whatever they did, he was always home, looking after Meghan.

Then, the fighting stopped. Footsteps came up the stairs, accompanied by tears. 5 minutes later, Meghan and Jack heard another sound. The front door slamming. She'd gone...

"Cathy! Catherine!" their father shouted after her. But, it was no use.

Meghan tip-toed down the stairs, and saw something she'd never seen before; Her father crying. He looked up, and met his daughter's teary eyes. She had her mother's eyes... "Cathy?"

"N--No, daddy..." she stuttered, "S--She's gone..."

A couple of hours later, Seamus O'Hara was already drunk out of his mind. Considering he was Irish, he'd never been a massive drinker. The smell of Guinness from the brewery down the road was enough to put any Irishman off his beer. But he was drowning his sorrows. He walked over to his daughter, and SLAP.

But that only made her cry harder. Jack came running down the stairs, to see what was going on, to find his father hitting his little sister, "DAD! Stop it!" But Jack had to pull him away.

"Daddy... Daddy, please..."

"Meg, get upstairs." she didn't have to be told twice. She ran up to her bedroom, and sat on her bed.

After 5 minutes of non-stop crying, she picked up the guitar her mum had bought her, and started playing U2, 'I Still haven't Found What I'm Looking For', "Amen to music..."
