Chapter Twelve

Satan was bored, for once. He slouched in his throne with the little girl on his lap and watched the drunks and other people of Hell wander about their lives. He had tucked the photo from his last visit into his loincloth strap, but currently the girl had removed it and was studying it. She suddenly pointed at a woman wandering nearby. "Is that her?" Satan plucked the photo from her grabby hands and held it up for a comparison. They did look awfully similar, but he didn't know for sure.

A flick of his tail summoned a rater attractive demon who bowed immediately before turning to escort the woman to the awkwardly placed stage. Satan still did not know why or when someone had slipped a shiny black stage right into the middle of his burning, underground, dirty Hell, but he quite like it. His hooves clicked nicely against the shiny surface and a red and gold "Crowd Control Rope System" (as name by some odd man who claimed he used to make them) somehow kept all of the uninvited souls away.

Speaking of uninvited souls, where had his invited soul gone? The demon and the woman were nowhere in sight anymore. Satan huffed and flicked his tail as his dark green eyes lazily scanned for any traces of them. All he could see were those annoying and sparkly blobs that had decided to come out of hiding. They currently stayed in smaller groups, but he could still see them forming eyes and mouths and tails to copy his actions. He was sure if they banded together they would form arms and legs to become a mini-him.

Still, he kinda liked them. They didn't really leave him alone but they wouldn't leave their corners. Satan yawned and stretched. He would have to work out why a demon and woman had disappeared so suddenly. But right now he was ready for a nap, and a nap he would have. He carefully tucked away the photo again and slouched a bit further in his throne to huff contentedly.

The little girl crawled off of him once she realized he was asleep, deciding to try and play with one of the blobs of something. It scattered and hissed before scuttling away as she giggled and chased after it. Nobody, not even Satan himself, realized when he vanished from his throne with a strangely garbled pop and auugh.
